If I get myself in a pub I attack something else, in a glass and its usually a full blown attack :)

As a buddhist I don't get that much stressed out but to relieve tension I normally go through some Sword Techniques in my indoor dojo. It's not that big but enough room to practice some moves.

This is where I hold private teachings too, I like to teach Self-Defence or Close Quarter Combat moves to all who wish to know some.

I like to go the local gym and workout, not heavy weight for bulk etc, just some circuit training to ease the tension, have a nice sauna afterwards and go back home, the gym is only 10mins away and I'm payed up for a year anyway. Lucky for me the gym is open 24hrs a day so I can go when I like.

Meditatation calms my mind and body and helps me relax and focus better too

Don't laugh... but one of the card players I watch on tv is a buddhist & they showed a clip of how it really changed his life. Very interesting clip. (and yes I know I am taking a huge chance coming out of the closet about the fact I watch poker on tv, I can't help it though I like it). He was a mess prior to making the change and he seems very, very content.

Warning small bit of religous talk, for those that could be offended:
I was born and raised a Catholic. In my teens I got twisted around a bit and I guess the choices I made would be frowned upon in our religion. I just can't find it in myself to look at my children and think they they are a mistake because I didn't marry their Father. So born and raised a Catholic, but strayed and just knew I wouldn't be welcomed into the church... I am not a religious person, I would like to feel I am a spiritual one though.

Our family belongs to the local YMCA. Prior to having th baby I loved going. After having the baby I have not returned, only because there is simply no time in the am I have two teens to get out the door, the baby to get ready to take to the office with me or drop at daycare & I also have to pick my friend up for work. It doesn't open in time to allow a morning workout. By the time I get home in the evening spend time with the baby put her to bed at 7 and hang out with the boys & catch up on their day, I am too tuckered at night. So I need to find some motivation there and possibly make myself go for a bit after 7 until I begin o enjoy it again.

I have never tried meditation, but when I see someone doing it they sure seem relaxed. I don't see my person as a sit there with legs crossed hummer type though.

Here is another don't laugh statement I am going to try reiki, hoping to get in this week or next. The same people at work who love "the secret" spoke about in another thread have jumped on the reili bandwagon and I am going to give it a shot, provided she will leave my feet alone.

Sitting there humming and cross legged is a bit of an old cliche lost. You can sit in a chair and say nothing if ya like, but I like to have some calming music in the background whilst meditating.

Anyone can do it, it just takes time and pratice to really get into it.

Oh...and Buddhism isn't a religion, lots of people think it is but it's not. It's a faith you follow, you can be a Catholic, Bapist, CofE and still be a buddhist if you wish.

Have a look in the Quiet Room in the thread about Buddhism, there is a link for UK & USA people but it's near enough all the same.

Has anyone seen the Movie "What's Love Got To Do With It" or better known as "The Tina Turner Story". Tina turned to Buddhism to help her get through the hardships she was facing when she was with her wife beating husband Ike Turner. In the latter part of the film she sees a friend who shows her how to chant etc.

This is a good piece of footage to see how the Daimoku or Nam myoho renge kyo is said

These days that $300 will get you a full tank of gas, milk and cereal. It sure doesn't take long to blow cash and you sure don't get much for it.

Going to a store would make me even more crazier ~ as it just burns me so much how expensive things are and I don't know how some folks support their family. Too much importance has been placed on the almighty dollar.

My Mom heads out and shops like you do Nat ~ it's her release she loves it. She is at her best when her worst has forced her to shop till she drops emoticon
