Re: Pops is back in town

I am packing bags and can be there tonight for a drink :Rasue

And not out of line a bit~ you never have to worry about that with me

I will drink in front of the kids, I just make sure I do so responsibly so they do know there is a difference. A bloody mary in the evening on the porch. A social drink with friends when we have company. I just also make sure if I am out for a night and have a drinking mission where I would like to drink a bit more than I should, that I keep that from the kids... I have a cupboard with alcohol in the house. There are a few beers in the fridge should a friend or family stop over & (I never had a taste for beer) the oldest one has mentioned a few times he is getting a beer... he just doesn't. He is going to be 18~ he has tasted wine, sangria (my Mom makes the absolute best) pina coladas - the family has just kind of always kept it with them to show them the difference of responsibility when drinking. That folks can have a few and don't need to wake up and be controlled by the alcohol.

I love that pix, love that bar~ so cool thanks for sharing and thanks for the advice. Sometimes I do feel like a hypocrite at night taking my drink out onto the porch with the kids...

Red that was so nice of you to say, seriously. It's sometimes difficult to share because I am sure some look in and can't grasp the happenings as a whole and they have to believe I am nutz (which I am but hopefully in a good way). I a comfortable here though and everyone seems to be just trucking through life the best they can and not one of us appear to live in a glass house~ would imagine most have some funky stuff going on. Hopefully what I have learned will help someone starting out on their journey. At least it lets someone know other people go through things that aren't picture perfect and we're here to listen and offer the best advice from our experiences that we can.

I have been told many times I have a book in me. It would be an unconventional one that's for sure~ but one that I know is a Happy one for us. Even with all the funky stuff~ we have faired quite nicely & I can't imagine getting through what we have gotten through without the children I have~ to me they are miracles and they are the reason we have faired as we have. I would be lost without those little jokers.

Thanks for the compliment Red, it really does mean alot. I would hope you know you have my respect as well. I am really glad our paths crossed emoticon

Have a great day and thanks, Red :hrts

Don't ever think that you are a hypocrite when it comes to alcohol. You have been put into a difficult situation by their father and are doing the best that you can.

I don't ever want to hear you use hypocrite and your name in the same sentance again young lady! :busted

Not to mention you thinking that other people haven't had to deal with similar crap and wouldn;t understand and love you anyway.
You are one of the best and strongest ,wisest, most honest women I have ever met, and you give that strength feely to others.

you do what is hardest, yet most needed in the world- you love freely.

As for the man who does not deserve you. Allowing your children to know the truth is hard as holy hell, but necessary. They will respect you for your wisdom and lovingness and for your respect for them.

You are doing a wonderful job and if ever you need to vent- you always have a place! :trihrt :trihrt :trihrt :trihrt :trihrt

Thanks Emm, seriously...

The crap in life sometimes needs to stink a bit to make you truly appreciate when you catch a break.

Sometimes its so difficult to have to watch the kids get a taste of that ~ until our break comes~ then it's like magic... Makes every bit of it so worth it.
