My 5 year old loves this one too! Especially towards the end with the poodle noodle puddle muddle, or whatever it is- lol!

Yes LOL!!our 5yr old howls laughing at that one - "faster...read it faster"!! Most of the Dr.S ones I have are from when we were kids. I like them 'cause my mom always wrote our names on them and she passed a long long time ago when we were kids so they are v.special altho' totally ragged now!

I couldn't live w/o Dr. Seuss when my kids were little. Now, everytime I see Hop on Pop if feel as though I'm going to have a stroke. That was their favorite book. Every night I had to read that thing.

ok, some cute books for readers grades 3+ are the "Captain Underpants" series and "Geronimo Stilton". My 5 1/2 year old is really turning into a great reader and is actually on this level (just a little bragging there) and he absolutely loves them. he'll move onto the Magic Tree series in a while, but for those readers transitioning form color to black and white print story books, these are really great!

wow he is an advanced reader~ that's so helpful for the early school years. My Grandparents & myself worked with the boys reading when they were little guys~ really looking forward to Olivia getting to that stage. I think it does help the going into grade school having the advantage of familiarity with reading.

He just naturally took to it and we have been reading to him since he was born. Its just one of those things. He absolutely loves it though and we really try to encourage it since alot of teachers we know say its really hard to get males into reading (compared to girls). Anyway, I just love to hear that little laugh when he is reading about Captain Underwear and the Attack of the Talking Toliets or the Wicked Wedgie Woman or Geronimo Stilton and his adventures in the cheese pyramid. Its pricesless!

I never knew boys needed an extra push but I am guessing Granddad did~ as all the boys in the family are avid readers & he is the magic behind that.
