Re: Getting ready for kindergarten
Thanks ! (again)
I forgot to mention that we do play with the alphabet bus from leap frog and she has the letter magnets (o seems to be her favorite) and we color and "write" on blank paper...and flash cards that I laminated so she wouldn't ruin them.
We sing the ABC song all the time, esp in the bath.
Every week she spends one day at her grammas.
My mother in law asked me what song could she be singing, I laughed and said the ABC's, only Natalie starts it by AEI to the beat ... then who knows what letters she is saying after those 3 but she sings it, LOL.
Oh, and something else on numbers. I have been asking her how old she is and she will put her little index finger up to say one, but then when I ask her how old are you going to be on your B-day, she can't get the middle finger on the same hand to "stand up" so she uses her other hand index finger, holds 2 index fingers for how old she is gonna be... lol
I am excited for her to start "pre-preschool"
I can't wait for her to have some little people to interect with. She is friendly with other kids and loving, I think she could learn from them too.

Re: Getting ready for kindergarten
It actually went very well this morning! The principal (who is wonderful) was at the front greeting everyone. We went through to our guy's class and he walked in like an old pro. Other kids were a little upset and before we left, I saw our son sit down with a little girl and play with her to make her feel better. He's really a great kid! Anyway, breakfast was good, we got to talk and spend time together, and relaxed. We'll see how it all went with pickup today and I'll try to post an update later.
Thanks for all the encouraging words though ladies!! It helps to have people to share with who have been there before.

Re: Getting ready for kindergarten
Well, I finally got some prices for the schools. !OMG!
I almost need a part-time job to pay for it. wow.
The goddard school is ridiculous they want almost 600 per month for only 3 days a week. So I continued to call down the list. Lapetite is high, kindercare is just as high. I ended up calling the church where she was baptised. Thats what I picked out for her.
That one is one day a week until she turns 2 1/2 then she will move to the 3 or 5 day a week.
much more reasonable in price this one is only 90 a month. I can afford that with out getting a job, lol. When it changes after she is 6 months older it only goes up 25 a month.
So I am excited for her she will get to start on sept 3rd......
you guys - with these costs so high how does everyone get by ???

Re: Getting ready for kindergarten
Wow! I guess we are lucky since we have an excellent preschool in town and it only costs $140/month. Thats 5 days a week- mornings only. Could be more if it was all day, but its still pretty reasonable I guess.
