Did anyone else see this Ken Burns documentary? it was absolutely brilliant and so incredibly well done. If they replay it, please watch. I appreciate the how and why of the war so much more now, and I thoughtI knew alot about it. Excellent show.

My boss absolutely raved about it. And I saw that it was on, but I was afraid to watch it. My boss honestly begged us to ~ he loved it.

Re: THE WAR
There was nothing really scary per se in the series but it deinfitely showed me more than I had ever seen before. It also laid out the enormous loss of American and Japanese lives in particular leading up to the decision to use the atomic bombs. It made me understand that decision in a historical context. For example, I really had no idea that the battle of Okinawa, right before the bomb was dropped, cost 12,000 US and about 100,000 japanese lives. The estimates about the invasion of Japan were even worse, thus the decision to use the first bomb. Anyway, the series laid this and many other battles out and helped to see how it affected both sides and it did not shrink away from any of the subjects of the war- the holocaust, d-day, pearl harbor, battle of the bulge, the internment camps here, etc. I think it should be required viewing for all high schoolers for sure.
