Big article about the new Tolkein, you might like it

Is the bridge to terbethia coming out as a movie? I believe that's a movie I have been wanting to see. We enjoyed Narnia.

Please post your links, that to me is one of the greatest things about runboard, getting to see the different boards and meeting people. I made a spot just for that because in looking around I found some very neat places.

Did you cry cause it was sad or was it a great movie cry? I have to watch tearjerkers. ET tore me up, lol.

I knew after watching Narnia the book had to be amazing. I could just tell.

Re: my favorite books

Tom Sharpe is a favourite of mine. I first discovered him whilst recuperating from knee surgery in 1983.I was given his two books on the South African Police(Riotious Assembly & Indecent Exposure) to while away the boredom that a hip to foot cast brings. I then of course bought more, in fact all of them. The effect he had on me was this, I didn't have a car & used bus it to work.People would be looking at me weird as out of nowhere on the bus I'd nearly be falling out of the seat laughing, I couldn't help it.Biting satire & very funny, I highly recommend him.

I also love anything by Clive Barker & Frederick Forsyth, tremendous writers in their own genre's.

CS Lewis is so awesome!!! I love his fantasy trilogy...crap what's it called...it's escaping me right now...but it's about a guy who travels to other planets...it's so interesting! Also The Great Divorce is probably my favourite book of all time...it's a short read, you should get it!

I love the Harry Potters too!!! I've read them probably a hundred times each, no exaggeration!
