The Sports Bar
Is Officially Open ...
My Penquins took a beating last night on their home turf, my son was devastated- he is a die hard fan. Regardless how it ends up they really have done well, they are a young team and I think they are going to be a force to reckon with.

Re: The Sports Bar
Thats who Sidney Crosby plays with, right? I think your son is right. I have always been a Red Wings fan growing up in Michigan and they seem to be doing well again. :roar: (hockey smiley)
PS: if your son likes hockey, there is a great article in this week's Sports Illustrated on Chris Drury.

Re: The Sports Bar
Yes we lucked into Crosby. And I will have to pick up the SI for Alex.
He was bummed last night with both the Pens and The Pirates called both teams bums :) He then retracked the statement afraid to jinx them.

Re: The Sports Bar
Please feel free to add a sport thread of your choosing. I am waiting for the olympics- that's my favorite. In know Red is pretty much up to speed with this topic she seems to follow them all pretty close.

Re: The Sports Bar
:D I do indeed. I love the Olympics too!!
Also, the Kentucky Derby is coming up and I love all the races for the triple crown. I must admit, I have a knack for picking the winner about 90% of the time.....as long as I don't bet on them. Isn't that ironic?
Anyway, I love those animals- thoroughbreds (and all horses) are about the most beautiful animals that exist. I remember Secretariet (but I was little at the time) and my all-time favorite was Seattle Slew. After seeing the movie and reading the book, my other favorite horse of all time......SEABISCUIT! What a great horse!

Re: The Sports Bar
I love to watch the derby but get so nervous that the horses will get hurt, I can't watch that. But I do watch and if it looks like it's getting crutial I keep the clicker in hand so I can change the channel.
90% of the time wow. That is seriously amazing. A gal here at work, her hubby bets the horses (pretty heavily, very heavily ;) ) and he loves it, he's addicted but I don't think he does very well. A couple of our Field Techs also love to do the same. They have told me many times once you give it a shot is sucks you right in. Needless to say I love to gamble, love it, love it, love it- so I have kept clear- just because I am afraid of getting sucked in- it wouldn't take much. Do love to watch them race though- they are beautiful animals.
I watched Seabisquit the movie, actually bought it. His was a wonderful story. I am thinking I cried at parts, haven't seen it for awhile though to be 100% sure.
