My Empty Garden

Appropriately named for 2 reason- tribute to Elton and last summer someone swiped every single planter I had outside. It must have been kids is all I can figure, but I am still mourning a few of the choicer losses. I actually heard them the one night, I was watching the TV and figured it was the neighbors cat so I sat there with front door open and let them take everything I owned- lol. If the neighbors cat is over and blinks now I hear him and I check...

I live in town in an old old old Colonial with a beautiful porch so up to this point it was like a mini vacation spot for me to enjoy in the evenings. I love to sit there, with a good bloody mary and just relax. I have a couple beds that I put in- each year I usually switch things up a bit so I haven't decided what's going in yet- but I love to garden. Granddad gave us the gift of appreciating books, my love of gardening comes from my Grandmother. As far as the baskets I hang I usually hang between 8 & 10 and this year I could have to resort to something Hee Haw-ish and hang milk jugs with binder twine so my stuff is left intact. Still hurting a bit over "grand theft planters" but I am sure I'll get over it once the weather breaks.

Re: My Empty Garden

gah! that's awful about the theft -
sounds like it was beautiful

I lost a number of my orchid plants during our cold snap this winter :p - am trying to look on the bright side, that I had too many any how lol

and I guess now I can start over

I love flowering plants, and was working on trying to make my porch in the front - and patio in the back nice with flowers and such - tho sorta lost the energy recently to keep that up
am hoping I can re-start
my problem with baskets front and back is they get blistered by the sun in the summer - front faces east - back west - so the sun during the summer is too much for everything I have tried so far :p lol
