Internet 101, Keep you and your accounts safe
If anyone is like me, you mostly likely make several stops to regular places each time you log onto the internet. Some of the stops you make require a user name and a password. It is a very good idea to change your password every now and then. It's a safety measure that takes a second to do, but it is something that can save a lot of hassel down the road. This is especially important if you participate on discussion boards, leagues, banking or bill paying online and the like. A person never really knows what is going on in the background, but accounts do at times get hacked. It happens with instant messenger all the time. Stay one step ahead of the trouble and change up your password. I change mine up when my online banking requires me to do it. When I get the notice from them I also log into my various stops throughout the day and change those as well.
Please don't give out your log in information, if at all possible. If you find yourself needing to do so, once you have been assisted change your password. That way if something would happen, you can be assured the person that helped you can most times be excluded from the incident. Make your password as secure as possible cap and lowercase letters as well as using numbers makes cracking them a bit more of a challenge.
I also shy away from giving out personal information as well.
The net is a wonderful place, but as we get more comfortable and trusting in our journies we sometimes forget precautions need taken. These precautions are necessary to enjoy what we enjoy daily in the safest manner possible.
