my "special" children
I have 2 of them one is 15 and the other is 2
Mikey is 15 he is mildly autistic, but when he was 3 he was severely. He went to a special school which helped him bloom into the young man he is today...
Leo is my 2 year old, we are currently seeing specialist including a behavioral specialist,
he is also having sensory integration issues as well. he is not vocally speaking as of yet, but he to will be entering a special school at age 3...
this is a great forum!

Re: my "special" children
That is so wonderful how things worked out for Mikey. Hopefully the same will hold for Leo. Will be great to hear about his class days and what they have him doing ~
My Justin (I can't help him I love him) is just great~ my oldest went to Jimmy's to return a movie. Jimmy wasn't home Justin was. He brought out his Bee Gee's cd told Zak he was afraid of his voice and couldn't sing and Zak said the next thing he knew there was Justin with a Boom Box hitting every note Barry Gibb did and adding a few of his own... Zak said it was one of the greatest things he has ever seen in his whole life. Needless to say I have already requested my concert too~ he can't be keeping that voice all to himself.
And if you could have seen how he lit up when I took his picture~ it stole my heart. I am going to bet his family never took snapshots~ well he couldn't understand it but he sure smiled and posed...
I am so glad he is with us now.
He meets with his social worker next week and I can't wait. I told Jimmy I have to meet who they assign him~ I just want to make sure they realize what a cool guy he is.
