Autism Awareness Month

April 2007 has been designated Autism Awareness Month. We have members who have knowledge in this area so please feel comfortable enough to turn to them for advice & understanding.

Welcome suzidfloosey. So glad you found us. I think the cusp of summer vacation has many experiencing different degrees of "one of those" moments.

So glad to have found your brother at runboard, we've had fun and he adds alot to what we have here. Hopefully you'll decide to join us on a regular basis as well.

Well I had to put my foot down with the 'big lad' (he's taller than me now!) and he calmed, if I can avoid 'losing it' it helps...same for all kids I suppose but where ASD is concerned it's a bit more complex. He does know how to yank my chain! Homework is a big issue and coming up to the hols there's so many tests / exams etc that it's stressful....roll on 28 May when we run off to Spain for a couple of weeks and leave school behind! Thanks for the lovely welcome - you've a smashing board here! :thnjs
