Re: Taking steps with little boys
That's where the panic sets in for me... especially because in my case their Dad was such a poor example as he has fought demons his whole adult life. I kept hoping things would change and they didn't (my mother was so right, as much as it pains me to see that in print). We've done the best we could do and am hoping for the best. And honestly I wouldn't change it. Yes it would have been wonderful if we could have been the perfect family, but really everyone's idea of perfect can vary quite a bit. So how it has worked out has been our kind of perfect.
I am getting to point of seeing how it all plays out in the end. Raising boys without a strong standup Father who took an active, positve roll in their life setting good examples... hoping the circle doesn't repeat itself and thinking we might just get through this A-ok. If things do take a left on me I will just have to be comforted knowing I honestly did try to the best of my ability throughout the various stages of my life. I have done as much growing up through their childhood years as they have.

You can only give your best to them, which it sounds like you are doing. Stay strong! :hrts
