We're off... We're back! The week flew by. Dy we were up to see my grandmother who at 99yrs is a very precious person to us all. All we did this time was visit and eat! So unfortunately all the pics are family ones which I don't post. In previous years we boated on the river Shannon (largest in Ireland) and got some wonderful pics so I may post some of those.

Re: We're off... Here are the lakes from last year - we hired a day boat just for one day and these were the snaps we got. In previous years we got the boat for a week and went out every day - this year I just wanted to be with granny tho' so we didn't go out. The weather wasn't good either so I suppose didn't encourage us to try!

We're off... Absolutely gorgeous. I really hope to be able to see Ireland. Everyone I have spoke with who has gone said it is the experience of a lifetime.
We're off... Well Leitrim and surrounds would typically be 'poor' country but it's very beautiful and all the restaurants we visited were just superb even the most basic cafe served wonderful home made fare. Compared to Cork (which is supposed to be the food capital etc) the food was far better and more reasonable. There are a lot of peat bogs etc too which are interesting.
