5 Year Old Hides From Bus Driver, Suspended from Riding
Do you agree with how they handled this situation? The little joker was 5 years old ~ I think this is just horrible what they have done. People irritate me to no end sometimes.
How do you guys feel about this?

The bus driver dropped off Erskine Elementary students on Aug. 29, then left to pick up children at another school _ with the boy still on the bus. The driver discovered him after hearing him giggle, and school officials said the driver was not at fault.
The child's mother says the punishment was too severe.
"He's 5 years old, he just started riding the bus," said Natasha Pulley. "I find the whole situation kind of messed up."
School officials re-enacted the incident with the 5-year-old to determine what happened, said Anderson Community Schools Superintendent Mikella Lowe.
"Any time a child is left on a school bus we want to find out what happened," Lowe said. "When the bus driver heard (the student), he took the appropriate steps. It was just a prank the little guy was playing."
Lowe would not discuss the terms of the student's punishment, citing confidentiality rules.
Pulley said she and her husband both work in Marion County, making it difficult to drive her to school in the county about 20 to 30 miles away.
"I understand him acting out. I understand he was in and out of the seats," said Pulley. "He's just a typical 5-year-old boy that just started school."

Gimme a break! He's only five and its the beginning of the year. Geez, they really need to focus on what is important. Plus, how hard can it be to find a 5 year old on a bus- duh! I guess the driver had to actually get off their fat butt and look, eh?

I am still so ticked about this ~ even this evening several hours after reading the story!!! What a horrible first memory of school and the big yellow bus for this little guy & can you imagine how afraid he is going to be to ride the bus ~ totally ruined everything I think. What a bunch of schmucks!

Could be as you say Red that the driver didn't bother his ass to get up and ensure all were off the bus and then has to cover his story. Poor little boy - he must be so upset. My 6yr old gets upset if teacher so much as looks funny at him so imagine that 5 yr old. Crazy adults gone mad on a power trip!

Geez that poor little kid! They should have just explained to him why he shouldn't do that and left it at that.
My husband is a school bus driver and he has a routine to follow at the end of each run to check every seat before leaving his bus. So there isn't a chance to leave a kid on the bus if they do their jobs.
