Healthcare Issues...

Not anything specific in the news, but I posted about how I took the baby to the Er yesterday and we had to leave without treatment due to a couple paperwork errors and a very extended wait time. Olivia was not happy she hung in like a trooper until she could no longer. I didn't feel it fair to have people there in pain or in crisis and having to hear a baby on top of everything else.

We left and I had hope she would wake up with both thumbs this morning (seriously I knew she would be ok, I was just afraid of infection...)

Her thumb looked a lot better this morning. Through the night magic happened or she just couldn't stand the taste of it and left it be. Right thumb will probably be rotten tonight (lol) my luck. Feel great she didn't choke on the band aid feel like we actually caught a break.

Anyways we left. So today at work they call my cell phone wondering how the baby was. It really tickled me only because I have never received a follow up call from them in my life. I am sure this was a tactic to be able to bill for some sort of phone consult. Last week grandfather was taken by ambulance he couldn't breath he had pneumonia, they discharged him he got home, fell and shattered his face, he is mid 90's so had to be rushed back in was there from 9:30 until 5:00 getting patched up. Mind you he is 95 with pneumonia, has just shattered his face broke his nose stitches the whole 9 years and they did give him a follow up call. He was certainly in a graver state than my daughter who they didn't even see. But they decided to call and check on her. I did make them away I would be checking the paperwork generated from the insurance company and if something appeared out of line I would not hesitate to speak up in regards to the 3 time error made getting her information into the computer of the fact that we left because it would have been in total a 6 hour wait to be seen. If you don't keep an eye on things, that's when it gets out of hand & that's why health care is such a disaster in theis country (one of the reasons).

How odd though they check on a patient they couldn't process correctly and see (3 attempts to get her infor into the computer) yet what happened to my grandfather warranted nothing.
