Re: Meet Harlem
Awhhhh
You might be just the person to ask too...
If I adopt a kitty who was left at my bosses creek (Mama and 4 babies) will I have a difficult time littler box training? The kitties and mama are not skittish around people, but the kitties have obviously never seen mama use the litter box. Obviously nobody likes poo, but with a soon to be 2 year old I need to be extra careful as she has a habit of picking up anything.
Do you think a rescue kitty can be easily litter box trained. Additionally are their any illnesses I need to look out for before bringing him/her home? Obviously the little one will be scheduled with our vet, but sometimes it takes a little time to get in.
And while I am picking you brain... female is probably more home friendly wouldn't you say, as males spray? I will be having a spay / neuter when it is time. And we are looking for homes for them all

Re: Meet Harlem
Bec as I said on another board Harlem is so cute...and Chill is amazingly calm for haveing a new kitten evade his/her territory...
Lost, We rescued 7 kittens when their mother was killed by a car (they were 2 days old when mom was killed and it took us three days to find where she moved them--they were born outside)...If Mom is still nursing them then you shouldn't have a problem...because the Mother's milk gives them their immunities to combat most illnesses. We lost 3 to Feline Hepatitus (similar to Aids as it attacks the immune system) and nearly lost Yoda but with determination (and force feeding her) she survived and back then the Vet told us that she wouldn't last more than a couple of years---she is now 14 years old (will be 15 in Oct).
