posticon My UNIQUE concert experience

Ok gals and pooty and hulk,

Guess who's back, back again... he he emoticon I went to see Metallica in San Diego on Wednesday, and boy did I have an interesting time. I, of course, enjoyed the concert -- a lot!! -- but boy do I have some stories to tell!

First of all, my boyfriend and I bought the tickets for the concert online about a month ago. We got really ****ty seats, because all the floor tickets and first level tickets had sold out according to the bastards at ticketmaster. However, Wednesday morning, my boyfriend and I woke up and decided to wander around San Diego until the concert started and we ran into this guy who was also going to the concert. He told us that his buddy had just bought a few floor tickets from the ticket box. Long story short, I made the impulse buy of my life and bought the floor tickets, even though I already had **** nose bleed tickets! I ended up giving the other tickets away to a complete stranger.

The time now is one 1:00 in the afternoon, and the concert starts at 7:30. We have floor tickets, no jackets, and its freezing cold! My boyfriend and I had walked from the hotel to the stadium, so we didn't have a car to keep warm in. We just decided to hang out with our new friends we met at who were also waiting for the doors to open. One was this guy named Darren, and another was this guy named Jeremy, a 6'5" 300 pound dude who flew from London England to California just to see Metallica and stay with some friends!

I met Niclas outside in the parking lot, and I was wearing my Metallichicks shirt. I said "Hey Nic!" and he said "Hey there Metallichick!" I laughed and told him I was the original Metallichick and he said "Really?? You girls are getting quite famous!" He then asked me how many people were in Metallichicks, and I told him over 400. He was quite impressed!

The time is now 2:30, and me and my new friends are standing around waiting for the doors to open. Suddenly, this loud, obnoxious homeless man with a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other walks up to Jeremy (again, Jeremy is a 6'5" 300lb Brittish dude with long hair and an ...And Justice for All t-shirt) and starts talking to him like he's a long lost friend. The man (who we nicknamed Bob Heiney because he was drinking a Heineken) was obviously very drunk or on drugs or both, and he starts rambling about how he had drank beer with the Queen of England. The homeless man had something written backwards on his forehead in whiteout, but none of us could figure out what it said. ANYWAYS, "Bob" got more and more obnoxious, telling Jeremey that "God loves you, and if you say he doesn't, I'm going to stomp on your ass!" so my boyfriend went to the ticket window to get security. When security FINALLY came 45 minutes later, out comes this 60 year old man with a long white beard in a golf cart! "Bob" got physically violent with the security guard, and then told him that he wasn't going anywhere, so the security guard called the REAL police. When the cops came, they were laughing their asses off, because "Bob" was being obnoxious and kept telling them he was going to see Metallica with his "friends" (meaning us). Long story short, the security guard told us that "Bob" had just been released from the California State Mental Hospital about a block away from the arena that morning, and that he was now going back.

The whole situation was quite funny,

BUT WAIT, THE STORY GETS BETTER!!!! You haven't heard the HALF of it!!!

To be continued....

Re: My UNIQUE concert experience

PART TWO

The doors opened at 6:00, and I got a great place on the rail. Me and my boyfriend were talking to the security guards. They were really nice guys. But here's the thing........... I hadn't eaten or drinken anything in about 12 hours, other than half a can of diet Pepsi and beef jerkey. I was really excited, so I didn't feel hungry or thirsty. Before Godsmack came out, this dude got on the mic and told us that the show was SOLD OUT and that Metallica was going to play a little longer! Awesome!

Godsmack came out to play, and they were cool. They left and then Metallica came out! They played NO LEAF CLOVER --- MY FAVORITE SONG! I started screaming my ass off! It was awesome.

And then... (and this is where the story gets quite interesting ------ and very embarrassing)

An hour goes by, and suddenly the day starts catching up to me. Actually, saying "the day hit me like a ****ing brick" is a more accurate description. I hadn't eaten, I was severly dehydrated, and it was very very hot and noisy. I started feeling a little dizzy, so I took a few deep breaths and tried to calm myself down. But things got worse, and my ears started ringing louder than the music. I got tunnel vision and I felt like I was going to fall over. I nudged my boyfriend and signed "weak" in sign language because I couldn't talk. I layed my head on the rail hoping I wouldn't pass out.

The next part I'm going to tell you is second hand information, because I don't remember any of it.

About half a dozen security guards, including one of Metallica's body guards, swarmed me. They said "open your eyes Raquel" (I remember hearing that part). "Open your eyes, if you don't open your eyes, you can't stay." At that point, I passed out, and my boyfriend and the security guards caught me. They pulled my body over the barricades, but only half of my pants came with me (good thing I was wearing cute undies!!!). They sat me down on something against the stage, and I remember them trying to make me lie down on the concrete, but I refused. I don't remember if I walked out of the arena or if they carried me out. My boyfriend says they carried me, but for some reason I feel like they walked me out.

The next thing I remember is coming to in a chair just outside of the stage area. This medic was taking my blood pressure and pulse. I jumped up and said "NO! I want to go see the show!!" I started walking away but they grabbed me and made me sit down. They gave me some water, and I felt MUCH better. I heard Metallica start to play Sad but True, and I told them to hurry up because I was going back out there whether they wanted me to or not. Finally they finished making sure I was ok, and I had to sign a medical release, and I went back out onto the floor.
My boyfriend and I worked our way back up to the front, and EVERYBODY was SUPER NICE! People were stepping back and letting me go forward because they had seen what had happened. When I got to the front, Jeremy gave me his spot on the rail! I told him "No, I don't want your spot! You EARNED that spot by waiting six hours in the cold!" but he insisted.

I stood on the rail with my cup of ice water, rocking out a little more carefully than before. Honestly, I was really out of it, and I don't remember much of the second half of the show. A few minutes later, Kirk, who I assume had seen me go down, made his way to our half of the stage. He looked down at our section, and he saw me standing there against the rail. He gave me a wink as if to ask "are you ok?" and I winked back to say "Yup, I'm back!". Then he smiled the biggest grin right at me and nodded his head. And at one point in the show after I had gotten back to the front of the floor, James said "Now, are you all ready to give me every last ounce of energy?!" and then pointed right at me. It was so cool and I felt so special!

When the show ended and the guys were throwing their picks out in the audience, the security guards who had helped me picked the picks up that had fallen in front of the barricades and put them in my hand! They all kept telling me "Welcome back! Welcome back!" -- sympathy picks!

I was so embarrassed! I passed out, 10000 people and Metallica saw my undies, but I got four guitar picks and met some cool people! It was a very interesting experience!

At my concert i was on the skinny side ot the rail but only a few feet away from it, wasn't much crowded from there but it was really hot as hell. However when the fire came up and the heat brushed on your face it felt great but I guess having to stand **** to butt to everybody made it hot.
