MetChick shout outs to the WM3
Many of you may not know who the "WM3" are. WM3, is short for the West Memphis Three... three young men convicted of a crime they didn't commit, and are currently in prison serving time for someone elses wrong doings.
The opening statement from their website:
Shortly after three eight-year-old boys were found mutilated and murdered in West Memphis, Arkansas, local newspapers stated the killers had been caught. The police assured the public that the three teenagers in custody were definitely responsible for these horrible crimes. Evidence?
The same police officers coerced an error-filled “confession” from Jessie Misskelley Jr., who is mentally handicapped. They subjected him to 12 hours of questioning without counsel or parental consent, audio-taping only two fragments totaling 46 minutes. Jessie recanted it that evening, but it was too late— Misskelley, Jason Baldwin and Damien Echols were all arrested on June 3, 1993, and convicted of murder in early 1994.
Although there was no physical evidence, murder weapon, motive, or connection to the victims, the prosecution pathetically resorted to presenting black hair and clothing, heavy metal t-shirts, and Stephen King novels as proof that the boys were sacrificed in a satanic cult ritual. Unfathomably, Echols was sentenced to death, Baldwin received life without parole, and Misskelley got life plus 40.
For over 12 years, The West Memphis Three have been imprisoned for crimes they didn’t commit. Echols waits in solitary confinement for the lethal injection our tax dollars will pay for. They were all condemned by their poverty, incompetent defense, satanic panic and a rush to judgment.
But there’s still hope for them, and you can help.

The purpose of this thread is to let the guys know that they're not forgotten, and there are still people here pulling for them.
What my plans are to get all my sister Metallichicks to post here with messages, pictures of where you live, anything you'd like and print it all out and mail a copy to each of the guys.
Your messages don't have to be case related- just something that would perhaps bring a smile to there face and renew their hope in the outside world.
I plan on printing this out March 21st and mailing it... so be sure to get your messages and pictures in before then. Post as often as you like ladies... the more the merrier.

Damien, Jessie and Jason:
I remember seeing your story so many years ago, and have thought from day one that you three were framed and thrown in jail as innocent as the children that were murdered. Somewhere out there walks a guilty man, and it's a damn shame that your lives have been spent for so long rotting away.
I check on you three often, and hope that I'll read how an appeal has gotten your convictions overturned, and that you've been freed. Unfortunately this has not been the case. Just know that so many of us out here are hoping every day that the real murderer is brought to justice, and that you can hopefully resume your lives as free citizens once again.
Nothing will bring back the years that were taken away, but we can dream for your freedom in the future..

Hi! I was so shocked when I read what happened to you guys. It's so terrible that some conservative, prejudiced people takes the power to take the lives of 3 young boys. Reminds me of the song "Ride the Lightning" by MetallicA. Do NOT give up! Remember that it is millions of people on your side that prays and do what they can to get you out of this. I will never forget this unjustice, even though you get out of this safely.

This what I read shocked me, make me sad and furious - and I can't even imagine how u feel. There is no words that can help u, but you should know that you aren't forget, that there is ppl who support you as our metall brothers.

Hey, I'm Jodz from Ireland, and I too like so many others am shocked at the legal sham that went on concerning yout case. I too, like many others hope that you guys will be freed from the injustice that your legal system has placed on you. I hope that you may pick up your lives and grab it with both hands. stay safe and never give up hope, for there are thousands, possibly millions who believe that you are innocent.
I hope the day comes soon that you are freed, and able to enjoy life once again.

Damien, Jessie, and Jason:
As a soon-to-be police officer myself, I was appalled at the mishandling of your case, lack of evidence, and basic disregard for justice that the prosecution has dealt you. I continue to pray that justice will be served, that the real offender is apprehended, and that all three of you will be freed.
Damien - Hang in there. Best wishes to Seth and I hope that you will be reunited with him.
Jason - You have stated that your faith in God has kept you in hope that the right people will be caught. Don't ever lose faith in Him. Don't stop praying; He is always listening.
Jessie - Remember, you were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. The interrogation was NOT conducted properly and it was not your fault. Do not lose hope.
It is simply bad luck that the law enforcement in your area lacked the common sense to pursue the right persons. I am sorry that the loss of twelve years has been the result. We here at Metallichicks are not going to lose hope, because we know what is true. So does God, and I believe that the truth will come out at the right time.

There are no words to express how angered i feel towars the government for their ignorance and biases, But I'm not going to talk about how i feel about it and how wrong they are. I'm just letting you know, another signaure is on the list, and we are desparately fighting for you guys and trying to spread the word. Best of luck to you three, and we'll be waiting for the day you get released.
