Re: Looking
Maybe go to a local guitar store or something..around here they have really nice (sometimes second hand though) beginner guitars, they aren't very expensive, being second hand and you can't go wrong..being a beginner I wouldn't go for a dream guitar yet (its just my opinion) until you've gotten into a groove and can play well enough..I've known people who put down crazy amounts of money on dream guitars and they didn't have enough patience to learn so they got stuck with minus digits in their accounts and a guitar they don't know what to do with. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying your one of them, I positive you aren't. Unless you've had some experience with something I wouldn't put down big bucks on it yet. Thats why I have a Nova (I've never even heard of a Nova before..but it looks high end, and has good sound, so I can't complain)
What you could also do..look in some catalouges from stores, sometimes they have beginner kits. You get the guitar, an amp, soft/hard case, cords, extra strings and all the jazz for not very much at all.
(Sorry I babble alot)

Re: Looking
I don't know if you already bought one yet but I recommend either a Squire Strat or an Epiphone SG Special. Both are extremely cheap and a good buy for beginners.
