I'd probably still hang out at Met boards and then word would pass around and people might start following me to different boards, LOL. Just joking though, I don't expect to be insantly famous or something.

I checked the Musicman basses out and they're about $675. That just screams expensive for me, lol. I'm actually checking out the Fernandes Tremor X bass pack but right now, the Encore bass that JasonStalker linked me to is $80 cheaper and that's tempting, lol.

I don't think my father paid that much for it. Probably about $200 or so. I think it was on Ebay, so maybe he just got lucky.

Things sold on eBay are usually god damn rip offs. I have friends who rip people off on eBay and get away with it. And you pay a ton for shipping anyways. I'm not sure I trust regular Joe's selling and sending me stuff. Plus, I don't think I like MusicMan basses anyways. They're not my thing.

I'd rather get a brand new bass from a legitimate store that gives you free shipping instead of buying it from some eBay nobody.

Well, that was back in 2001 or so when people didn't take advantage of Ebay as much.

Yes, after you telling me about your friend, I don't think I will ever purchase from Ebay again. There are too many crooked people on that damn website, that is for sure. emoticon I don't think it is right but I know I can't stop it, so I'll drop that subject right there . . .

Anyway, just physically go to a store. I think that is the best way to go, because you can try the bass out for yourself, and buy it straight off the bat without shipping. I am sure that you have a good variety of music stores in your area, right?

And are you going to permanently go to bass and have guitar as the side instrument? It will definitely be an easy transition, so good deal . . .
