Home is Where the Heart Is
Ok here goes...
*******************************************
The pale orange moon hung low in the sky as Lilith made her way home. She sauntered alongside the road slowly with hopes that the scent of cigarrette smoke would have left her ripped jeans and denim jacket by the time she reached home.
''I swear I'll quit,'' were her words that she spoke to her reflection in the mirror a few weeks back with determination in her bright gray eyes, but she knew that one last smoke behind the general store surely wouldn't be her demise.
The sound of unrest came from her house as she neared the driveway, faded and gashed with potholes just like the road. The veranda creaked as did the screen door as she let herself inside. Ignorant of his daughter's arrival, Lilith's father continued yelling obscenities and accusing her mother of sleeping around. She chucked her whiskey bottle at him, but he managed to dodge it as it hurdled towards him and shattered against the wall, sending a stream of liquor onto the kitchen floor. A shard of glass shot from the explosion and sliced her father across his left temple.
''You little b*tch!'' he hollered and slapped her mother across the face. Lilith, at that point, felt that she should break up the fight. She scrambled into the kitched just as her mother was making an attempt to reach into the knife drawer.
''Okay, I don't know who's right and who's wrong,'' Lilith began, ''but you two need to calm down.'' Her father cursed and swung his fist into her right arm.
''F*ck!'' she screamed and scrambled upstairs, Her parents had fought many times before, but this was the last straw. She burst into her room, grabbed her canvas bag, and began stocking it with such items as a plain white t-shirt, her cassette player, a few of her favorite cassette tapes, a book, a pocket knife, twenty bucks, and a note pad and pen. She snuck downstairs and out the back door. Across the lawn she crept until she entered the shed, where she shuffled through drawers until she found her father's gun.
''Oh sh*t!'' she whispered as the back door slammed. She slipped the gun in her bag, stealthfully exited the toolshed, and made a run for it into the woods. She ran, stumbling on sticks and brier patchs, until she reached town. Her parents could care less if she ran away, but the last time she was caught in the toolshed her father pulled his belt on her.
She walked on for miles utnil she approached the city limits. The road seemed to strectch on into infinity and tall grass expanded outward on each side of the raod as far as the eye can see. The moon was now at the zenith and the stars were like thousands of diamonds strewn upon a black velvet blanket. Lilith was about to grab her cassette player and pop in Kill 'em All when she heard Runaway by Bon Jovi blasting from a car. She chuckled at the irony as a red convertable pulled up beside her. A young man with a blonde mohawk and leather jacket was driving and two women with big hair and hoop earrings sat chatting and giggling in the back.
''You lookin' for a ride, chickie?'' the man said to Lilith with a New York accent. She contemplated for a moment, then decided to enjoy the rush of blazing the open road.
''That's alright, Fonzie,'' she replied, grinning. The man appeared offended by her comment, then shrugged and drove off.
About an hour later, Lilith began to grow weary. She flopped down by the side of the road and sat with her knees held tight to her chest. A light breeze swept by, tilting the miles of tall grass to one side. As Lilith shut her eyes and listened to the soft shushing sound, she heard another sound in the distance. She opened her eyes and saw a bus creeping down the road a couple hundred paces away.
''Looks like I got lucky,'' she said to herself, rummaging through her bag for her money while pondering how much the fare would be. Suddenly she paused and looked up, noticing that it wasn't a city bus.
********************************************
Well I hope you enjoyed it. I promise the 'tallica boys will come into the story in the next part.

Re: Home is Where the Heart Is
I'm glad you all liked it! So um here's the next part
*****************************************
The brakes squeeked as the bus pulled up and let out a hiss. The door swung open and Lilith pulled herself to her feet. She was more glad than ever that she hadn't accepted the ride from the man in the convertable because she automatically recognized the young man with curly black hair who stood before her on the threshold.
''Y-you're Kirk Hammett,'' she stammered.
''In the flesh,'' he replied. ''Well we gotta get back on the road, so if you need a ride I suggest you hop in now.''
''Sure!'' Lilith grabbed her bag and climbed into the bus behind Kirk. He led her to where James, Cliff, and Lars were sprawled out among their bunks.
''Hey guys, this is, um - what did you say your name is?''
''Lilith.''
''That's right. Lilith,'' Kirk said. ''And I suppose you're familiar with the rest of the band,'' he assumed, staring down at her Metallica t-shirt. Lilith nodded, starry-eyed, noticing that both Cliff and James seemed to be gazing at her with a look of attraction in their eyes.
''So, where to?'' James questioned. Lilith thought for a moment.
''Wherever you guys are heading, I guess,'' she replied.
''Well we just finished up the Ride the Lightning tour and we're now heading to James's pad up in Jersey until we decide to head back to California,'' Cliff informed.
''I have a spare room you can stay in,'' James added.
''Really? You'd let me stay with you?''
''Of course. It's really no problem,'' he assured.
''Perhaps I can thank you guys by showing you around. Jersey just happens to be my turf.''
''Then what are you doing up in New York,'' Lars questioned.
''I live here, but you see I kinda ran away. And besides, Jersey and New York go hand in hand.'' Lilith situated herself on an amp and remained there as the bus rolled on into the night. They soon approached the outskirts of a scruffy looking town and pulled up to an equally as decrepit townhouse.
''Sorry if the house isn't exactly luxory. James couldn't keep a place clean if his life depended on it,'' Kirk said to Lilith.
''Shut up, man!'' James retorted.
After the band's belongings were brought inside and the bus drove off, everyone settled in. Lilith kept an eye out for shards of broken glass and other miscellaneous objects then one would rather not step in as she was shown to her room. By that time the early hours of the morning were approaching. She tossed her denim jacket onto the floor, tied back her long tumbleweed hair, and climbed into the twin sized bed, devoid of blankets. As she lied in bed and watched the hallway flash from blue to white from the glare of the television and listened to the purring of the air conditioner lodged in the window, her house and her deadbeat parents were the farthest things from her weary mind. After being kicked around like a stray dog one too many times in her life, lying comfortably in bed in a house with her favorite band made up for every struggle she had ever faced. Suddenly the silhouette of one of the guys slinked by and halted in her doorway, though she couldn't decipher who it was in the darkness.
''You need anything?'' asked a voice that she immediately recognized as Cliff's.
''That's okay, but thanks.''
''Alright. Well if you end up needing anything my room's the second one to the right. I suggest you don't wake up any of the other guys 'cause they can be real bastards when they don't get their sleep.'' With that, Cliff walked on to his room and Lilith smiled, shutting her eyes.
****************************************
Well that's it for now. I'll post the next part after I get some sleep.

Re: Home is Where the Heart Is
^^^AGREED!!!!! But Cliff is miiiiine!!! All MINE! lol, just kidding I'll share.
* at Cliff*
*******************************************
The morning came with a burst of sunlight peering into the window of Lilith's room. She let out a loud yawn and stretched before climbing out of bed. Her hair cascaded like a waterfall down to her waist as she removed the blue elastic and placed it around her wrist. After slipping into her t-shirt she examined the bruise on her arm. Cringing at the memory of the night before, she left the room and joined the guys in the kitchen. Cliff and Lars were sitting, half asleep, at the table, Kirk was fast asleep on the couch, and James was spraying a pile of soiled dishes in the sink. No one seemed to be aware of Lilith's arrival. She noticed a plate of pancakes sitting on the counter and assumed it must be her's.
''Good moring, James!'' she chimed as she ambled by cheerfully. A startled James snapped out of his tired delirium and whipped around, accidentally spraying the fron of Lilith's white t-shirt. Gasping, she grabbed a towel off the oven handle and used it to cover up. Cliff was gazing at her with a goofy sort of grin on his face, but he snapped out of it and aimed his stare in another direction as soon as she noticed him.
''Sh*t! I'm so sorry!'' James cried.
''No, it's my fault,'' Lilith claimed. ''I shouldn't have snuck up on you like that.'' James lent her a plain black t-shirt that was a couple sizes too big and reeked of cigarrette smoke and alchohol, but she made due.
''So, um, why is it that you ran away?'' Cliff pondered as Lilith scarfed her breakfast. She looked up and noticed all of the guys staring at her inquizatively after hearing the question.
''Well, not to pull a sob-story on you guys or anything, but I come from a broken home where everyday is an all-out brawl between my parents. I got so fed up with them ignoring me when I tried talking to them and tried getting help and them continuing to snipe at each other that I decided to get away from it all.'' All four reacted to her story in a caring fashion. It was then and there that Lilith discovered that her appreciation for Metallica wasn't only for their music.
Since the band had recently completed a tour, they were worn out and decided to slack off all day. They promised Lilith they could hit town the next day. Thus, all day was spent sprawled out amongst the house, watching television, and clowning around.
After a hearty dinner of chicken, corn, and mashed potatoes, Kirk cut James some slack and took over dish duty. Lars was lying on the floor in front of the television, too full to pay attention, and Cliff was perched on the couch, lighting a cigarrette. James signalled for Lilith to follow him into her room. As she did just that, she didn't notice Cliff leering at James with a jealous stare as he took a puff. James claimed to Lilith that he wanted to talk to her, but the hunger in his eyes as he shut the door behind him made it clear that he wanted more than to talk.
''You know, Lilith,'' he began as he crept closer to her, ''I've been wanting to tell you that I find you really attractive.'' A grin broke out across his face. Lilith giggled nervously. She admired James and found him appealing, but it was Cliff that had won her deepest feelings with his sincerity, the deepness in his eyes, and his ability to listen to what she has to say better than anyone she's ever met. Before she could gather any words to say, James wrapped his arm around her. She took but one glance into his blazing blue eyes and couldn't help herself. Her face grew hot and before she knew it they were kissing violently. James reached up the back of her shirt and undid her bra while continuing to keep her mouth occupied with his. He gently pushed her down onto the bed and got on top of her when they were interrupted.
''James! Get your ass in here!'' Cliff called from the living room. ''The couch is on fire!'' James sat up, sighing and rolling his eyes.
''Damnit! Not again! I swear someday that jackass is gonna burn us all straight to hell,'' he grumbled and left the room. Lilith wondered if she should go out and make sure everyone was okay, but judging by the lack of commotion she assumed that everyting was at ease. She flicked off the light and shut her eyes, beginning to wonder if Cliff had staged the incident to distract James from her because he was aware of their little rendezvous. Afterall, Lilith had a small assumption taht Cliff was into her as more than just a housemate and friend.
A couple hours later Lilith was shaken from her sleep by the sound of voices in the living room. She couldn't quite make out what they were saying, especially since her senses were weak with slumber. She could hear the opening of a beer can and then the continuing of the voices which she then theorized was only two people.
''No really, man. It's okay. You can have her,'' she could hear James's voice say. Too tired to be confused, she allowed herself to drift back into slumber.
*******************************************
Well that's it for now. The next one will be up soon. (excuse my eccessive use of smilies. I had too much coffee).
