Anyways, here's the next part...

******************************************

Lilith awoke to her room drenched in morning light. She scrambled out of bed and into the living room and, before grabbing a bite to eat, flopped down on the couch beside James.
''Hey, James. Um, I've got a question.''
''Shoot.''
''Well, what were you talking about in the living room last night?''
''You heard?!'' James grew wide-eyed.
''Barely.''
''Uh...'' James paused, grasping for the words to say. Suddenly, a devlish grin appeared on his face. ''Well, Lilith. Little Cliffy-boy has a crush on you!'' he said in his loudest speaking voice. Kirk and Lars looked up from the table and Cliff fought to hide his beet-red face behind his chestnut-colored hair.
Breakfast was extremely akward. Both Lilith and Cliff remained silent. After James, Lars, and Kirk had found a place in front of the television, Lilith went with Cliff outside to talk. He led her to a lake several blocks away from the townhouse.
''So, what is it you wanted to talk to me about?'' Lilith questioned, gazing out upon the rippling lake, silvery-white beneath the sun's glare.
''I just wanted to tell you that what James said this morning is true. I've kinda had a thing for you ever since you walked into the bus.'' Cliff stared down at the ground as they walked.
''Well, um, I kinda feel the same way,'' Lilith admitted. Cliff looked up at her. She reached foward, moved his hair out of the way, and gave him a peck on the cheek. Cliff smiled as his face reddened even more than at breakfast. He gently grabbed Lilith and kissed her lips long and softly. That time, it was Lilith's cheeks that resembled two cherries as Cliff pulled away. Time seemed to have ceised as they held each other tightly for what felt like hours, but was really only five minutes. Until the sun had traced nearly a quarter of the sky the two of them strolled around the lake, holding hands, talking, and laughing.
''So how many times do you think we've circled the lake?'' Lilith wondered.
''Don't know. I lost count after five.'' They made their way back slowly, admiring the golden glow of the late afternoon.
''Welcome back, lovebirds!'' Lars exclaimed as Cliff and Lilith entered the house. Cliff rolled his eyes and jokingly pushed the little guy into the wall.
That night, Lilith took the guys to a burger joint that she went to a few years back. Not much about it changed besides the faces. The same red vinyl booths occupied the perimeter of the restaurant, the same jukebox flashed with a multi-colored irridescance in the corner, and the same album covers from legendary bands were painted upon the walls. As they waited for their food, Cliff was fiddling with the jukebox. A minute later the restaurant echoed with a Simon and Garfunkle tune. James sat wishing the selection included something along the lines of Skynyrd.
Once everyone was full to bursting, they hopped in the car and took off, Lars driving. They aimlessly rode around the city for about an hour until everyone save Lars began to grow antsy.
''Lars, you better take us back now or I'm going to kick your ass and get behind the wheel myself,'' James threatened. Lars, knowing that James was obviously lying through his teeth, drove on for about thirty more minutes before finally heading back. James was so frustrated with Lars that the second they walked inside he pinned him to the couch, sat on his face, and let a big one rip. Everyone burst into laughter except for Lars, who had a rather sour look on his face.
It was later that night when it was decided that they would head back to California the next day.
''You're coming with us, right Lilith?'' Cliff asked, a look of skepticism in his eyes.
''Well, home is where the heart is,'' she began, causing the guys to hang their heads, ''and my heart is right here with my boys!'' The guys cheered and squeezed her until she was gasping for air. The look of skepticism in Cliff's eyes had changed to happiness and he kissed Lilith on her cheek.
That night Lilith slept soundly. All the guys were resting up for the trip as well, so no one was woken up.

''Wake up!'' Kirk bellowed as he paraded down the hallway, followed by a chorus of tired groans and bedroom doors swishing ajar. Lilith groaned and rubbed her eyes, noticing that the sun wasn't illuminating her room, but the hallway light was instead.
''What time is it?'' she asked Kirk as he barged into her room to shake her from the matress.
''Five in the morning. Now get up, we're supposed to meet our tour manager at the airport in two hours,'' he replied without even an ounce of sleep in his voice. Lilith pulled herself out of bed and followed the guys into the living room where they all dropped like flies upon the couch and the surrounding area, all except for Kirk who was apparently used to waking up early. He tossed everyone a snack bar and began carrying luggage out to the car. Soon enough, Lilith, Cliff, and Lars got to their feet and pulled James to his since he stubbornly refused to move from his spot. Each of them took a bag or an article of equipment and lugged it out the door and into the car. When the work was through, they hopped in the car and departed from the townhouse.
The sky faded from cornflower blue to pewter as the rising sun shone through the settling fog, creating a rosy blur upon the land that soon gave in to the golden tint of early morning as they approached the airport. They boarded a private jet, Cliff and Lilith sitting together and James, Lars, and Kirk spread out among the remaining seats. Lilith yawned as the plane took off and she struggled to keep her eyes open. Cliff allowed her to rest her head on his shoulder. He draped his denim jacket over her as a blanket while she nuzzled her head into his shoulder and breathed in his scent.
''Wake up, we're here,'' Cliff said softly a few hours later and gave Lilith a gentle nudge. She awoke and gazed out the window with tired eyes at the sea of buildings bathed in sunlight and dotted with cars, people, and trees. Cliff took her hand and tenderly gave it a squeeze.
''Tomorow I'll show you around the bay area. Just you and me.'' He smiled warmly and kissed her forehead. The two of them nuzzled until the plane landed and James, Kirk, and Lars got up from their seats, stretching and removing luggage from the compartments.
They drove a rental car from the airport down to a dark blue two-story house several miles from the boardwalk.
''Welcome to the Metallica house,'' James said to Lilith, smiling, as they approached the veranda, scattered with beer cans and towels slung over the railings. The inside wasn't much cleaner than the townhouse, but it had a homey feel to it that Lilith could see herself growing accustomed to. Her room was on the second floor and led out to a balcony overlooking houses strung with clothslines and lush expanses of grass underneath them, nearly glowing in the sunlight.
Dinnertime was approaching, and Lars had ordered a couple pizzas. They enjoyed them on the back porch beneath the lavender twilight sky, glittering with pale stars. A torch flamed in each corner of the porch and the sterio blared from inside the house. James stepped into the kitchen and immerged a minute later with a six pack of beer.
''I can't believe this thing's been sitting in the fridge since we left! We better finish it off now,'' he exclaimed.
After everyone had eaten their pizza and washed it down, Lilith sauntered up to her room. Despite the fact that most of the day was spent sleeping, she felt drained and had a headache from the flight over. She lied awake in bed and studied the curtains wafting in the soft night breeze as she pondered what the next day would bring. She then remembered Cliff saying he'd show her around town and a smile spread across her face. ''Life is sweet,'' she whispered to herself, lying snug in bed, listening to the hum of the television downstairs, and feeling ready to take on California.

lol, don't sweat it St1tches. But thanks for telling me so I wouldn't end up suspecting it's a rip-off emoticon

Anyways, I've had a horrible case of writer's-block all day so that's why this one took me forever to write. So yeah, here it is emoticon ...

*****************************************

The next morning began with an overcast of clouds, but they parted and gave way to sunlight by the time the afternoon approached. Most of the day was dedicated to sitting around the house until the late afternoon when Lilith and Cliff hopped into his station wagon and grabbed a bite to eat and then headed out towards the boardwalk.
''You're gonna love it here,'' Cliff assured as they squeezed into the parking area. They were immediatley greeted by the smell of popcorn and various sounds from the game stands as they stepped out of the car and up to the stairs.
''This is just like the Jersey shore,'' Lilith remarked, gazing through the hordes of people at the seemingly endless array of stands.
''Then I suppose you're familiar with the shooting gallery,'' Cliff assumed and walked towards the stand with the wooden carvings of ducks gliding by and whimsical-looking plush dolls hanging from the walls. ''James kicks ass at this game,'' he said, grabbing one of the five bb guns connected by a cord to the counter and perfectly shot down one of the wooden ducks. ''Ha! Lucky shot!'' Lilith took hold of a gun and, with a crack followed by a loud ping, missed the target and hit the dented metal sheet in back. ''Lemme help you out there.'' Cliff got behind her, put his hands upon her's tightly wrapped around the gun, angled it and shot down one of the ducks as swiftly as he had done before. He paid for another round and won Lilith a psychodelic-looking pink and orange teddy bear.
''This thing's so tacky that it's actually kinda cute,'' she giggled and hugged Cliff.
For the next couple hours the two of them pathetically attempted at the other games and paraded down the boardwalk, laughing and joking around. People gave then odd stares in return, but that wasn't either of their cares, nor was anything else.
Soon the sun was setting and the crowd had thinned, and Cliff and Lilith sat behind the railing to watch the sun descend upon the horizon, sending shades of yellow, orange, and red across the sky and rippling water.
''You know what I like a lot about you, Cliff?'' Lilith began, shifting her gaze in his direction, his hair flaming red in the sun's radiance. ''All the boyfriends I've had tried to get me to wear dresses and makeup, thinking I'd look much prettier, but you respect me for who I am.''
''Of course. I'd never try to change anyone into something they're not. And besides, you're beautiful the way you are. I love you.'' He pulled her deeply into a passionate kiss and held her tight.
They held each other, Lilith's head nuzzled beneath his chin, until the sun had completely sunk into the horizon and the two of them decided to head back to the car, walking hand in hand.
The house was a filmy shade of blue when they entered and found James asleep on the couch with his arm dangling to the beer-stained carpet and Lars was asleep on the coffee table with an open TV guide resting on his face.
''I'm assuming Kirk is sleeping up in his room,'' Cliff remarked.
''Yeah, looks like they all partied a little too hard.'' Lilith flicked on the hallway light and made her way towards her room when she heard Cliff clear his throat and turned around.
''You're not gonna make me sleep alone, are you?'' he chuckled. Lilith smiled, as if he had read her mind, and followed him upstairs, careful not to awake James and Lars. Cliff turned around as he opened the door to his room and gave Lilith a mischievous grin and raised his eyebrows, causing her to giggle.
''Sshh,'' he whispered, tenderly placing his finger upon her lips, then replacing it with a kiss. He grabbed her hand and playfully yanked her into his room. Lilith immediatley shed her denim jacket and tossed it on the floor and fell into Cliff's arms. He placed his hands firmly upon her waist as their mouths melted into each other's. They collapsed into the bed and their bodies met beneath the wool blanket. The warmth of Cliff's hands running across Lilith's bare skin sent tingles racing up and down her spine. She struggled to supress her moans to produce as little noise as possible, but the marriage of passion and sensation of Cliff sinking into her was all too much.
As the night wore on, Cliff held Lilith tight in his arms. She wiped sweat from her forehead and kissed his chest, heaving with each breath he took. They met faces for one last passionate kiss before settling down for slumber. Lilith ran her fingers through Cliff's hair, the front stands of it dripping with sweat, as he smiled up at her.
''Cliff?''
''Hmm?''
''How will we make it so no one finds out about this in the morning?''
''Ah who cares if anyone finds out.'' Cliff smiled and yawned, and buried his head between Lilith's shoulder and the pillow.

Re: Home is Where the Heart Is

Woo-hoo! My writer's-block is over! Now I'm on a writing binge! lol, here's the next part (unfortunately this one doesn't have any romance in it emoticon ).

*******************************************

The weeks swept by like a breeze and 1986 was but several months ahead. The band had written some material for their upcoming album, Master of Puppets. It was one sunny morning at breakfast when Lars suggested that sitting at home nearly every day was no longer supplying inspiration and that they should all experiment with a new environment for a few days.
''I went ahead and rented out an old abandoned campground out in the country,'' he informed as everyone was crowded around the table, finishing off their meals as the sun peered through the window and played oblong patches of light upon the floor. Everyone gave thought to Lars's idea and agreed to pack lightly and set out early the next morning.
Yet again, it was Lilith who awoke last and Kirk who was far ahead of everyone else.
''I swear, the ground would need to be tremorring for her to get out of bed,'' Kirk joked as he led everyone out the door. ''Whoa, hold it,'' Kirk commanded when noticing James setting his ESP Explorer in the back of the van along with two amps.
''What's the problem?''
''We're going into the woods, man. We can't destroy the peace.''
''C'mon, Kirk. I already brought this out here, I'm not bringing it back in.''
''Kirk is right,'' Cliff interjected, ''we won't let you be an ass about this.'' He and Kirk stared at James sternly until he brought his equipment back inside and fetched his acoustic guitar.
They rode on into the countryside for hours until everyone groaned with hunger pains. They pulled over at a shabby-looking diner, conjuring up a storm of dust as they swerved into the gravel parking lot.
''We'll have two chicken sandwiches, three cheeseburgers, and five Cokes,'' James ordered after discussing it with everyone else. The old man behind the counter stared at James's long scraggly hair, ripped jeans, and leather jacket.
''We don't like your type 'round here,'' the man said through a mouth nearly devoid of teeth.
''What the hell did you say to me?'' James growled, anger rising in his eyes.
''You heard me. Or are you sleazy and deaf?'' At that point, James was boiling over with fury.
''James, I think you should calm down so you don't get yourself in trouble,'' Lilith advised. James was too angry to pay attention to her, and snapped at the man.
''I don't need to hear that kind of sh*t from a piece of whitetrash like you, f*ckface!'' And with that he reared back and punched the man smack dab in his face. The man held a cluster of napkins to his nose and picked up the phone, and a minute later the town sheriff burst into the diner. James squirmed and cursed as he was handcuffed, but soon gave in and was pulled out to the sheriff's car.
''And once again, sh*t-for-brains gets himself in trouble,'' Lars sighed as he, Cliff, Lilith, and Kirk stormed out of the diner. They stopped for directions to the county jail at a general store. The clerk was far more hospitable than the man at the diner.
It was near dinnertime when they arrived at the jail and their growing appetites made them feel faint. James paced back and forth in his cell as the papers were filled out and all four chipped in a sum of money for the bail price.
''Thanks for getting me out of there,'' James said as they exited onto the main road, ''I swear that big guy in the next cell over was giving me looks.'' He shuddered.
''Just don't screw up again. You cost us two-hundred bucks,'' Kirk replied.
They stopped back at the general store and stocked up on snack bars and beer to satisfy their stomachs.
''So, where's this campground at?'' Cliff questioned, opening a beer.
''Should be only a few miles away,'' Lars replied as they drove on into the twilight.

lol, I'm glad I got a reply (I was worried that the other part was a little smutty emoticon ).

Okay, this one's gonna have a weird-ass twist emoticon

*******************************************

They pulled into a dirt path marked by a sign with the words ''Camp Crystal Lake'' carved into it.
''Well here we are,'' Lars spoke as they stopped in front of the cabin nearest to the lake. The floorboards creaked as they carried in their luggage and dusted off the cots. Lilith began opening windows to drive out the musty smell, and it was when she came to the last window that something out in the woods caught her eye. No further than fifty paces into the woods was a tree with one side smudged with a shade of dark red, remarkably similar to blood. She was stricken by a quick jolt of fright, but decided not to inform the guys to avoid worrying them.
''What'cha looking at?'' Cliff asked, placing a hand on Lilith's shoulder as she stared blankly into the woods.
''Nothing. I-it's nothing,'' she stammered, backing away from the window as she struggled to forget what she spotted.
Later that night, everyone gathered in a circle and listened to Kirk play a riff that he had come up with.
''It'll sound even better once I plug in and convert it to electric,'' he said after finishing the last chord. James glanced around at the cabin, ethereal with the eerie orange glow of the kerosene lanterns... the perfect setting for a scary story.
''Has anyone ever heard the story behind Camp Crystal Lake?'' he began, followed by silence and confused looks. ''Well, legend has it that not so long ago many people were killed here by the machete-wielding murderer, Jason Voorhees. It all started long ago when Jason was a camper here. The counselors weren't watching him as he went for a swim in the lake, nor did they hear his screams as he drowned. Many years later he rose from the lake, mangled and decayed, and found his mother beheaded. It was then when he was overcome with rage and swore to kill every person who set foot in the camp. They say he still lurks the forests of Camp Crystal Lake, with his machete and hockey mask, looking to continue his killing spree.''
''That's bullsh*t!'' Lars shouted.
''Then why is the camp abandoned?'' James stated with a grin on his face. Lars rolled his eyes.
A bit later everyone settled down into their cots, Lars tapping a rhythm against the metal railing with two pens and James, Cliff, and Kirk scribbling in their notebooks. Lilith gazed up at the ceiling, thoughts of the tree and James's story racing through her head.
''Hey, Lilith,'' Cliff called softly from his cot which was right beside her's, ''what do you say about us going for a swim?''
''Sure.'' She climbed out of her cot and followed Cliff towards the door.
''Watch out you two!'' James called and imitated the sound of a knife slicing through a body and a scream. Cliff flicked him off and slammed the screen door shut as they left the cabin.
''Is something wrong? You've been quiet ever since we got here,'' Cliff asked as they strolled down the path towards the lake.
''It's what James said. Kinda got me worried.''
''I wouldn't worry about it if I were you,'' Cliff chuckled, ''Jason Voorhees is about as real as Santa Claus.''
''But I saw blood on one of the trees as I was opening the windows.''
''It was probably just paint.'' He took off his shirt and tossed it on a rock as they neared the shore. The two of them shed down to their undergarments and immersed into the water. Lilith swam out to the middle of the lake and gazed up at the full moon, gazing back down upon the water in an ominous manner. The whispering of the wind combing through the trees seemed to speak maniacally of chaos and unrest. Lilith decided to heed the premonitions and persuade Cliff to head back, but he was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly, she felt her legs being grabbed and, after she had wriggled free, Cliff rose from the water, laughing and gasping for air.
''Cliff! You scared the sh*t out of me!''
''I'm sorry. You forgive me?'' he held out his arms while continuing to tread.
''I guess,'' Lilith swam foward and hugged him for as long as she could stay above water without treading. Suddenly, they could see through the trees the cabin commence to darkness followed by a loud racket.

*******************************************

lmao, I love Friday the 13th and I couldn't resist putting Jason Voorhees in the story emoticon
