Holy crap I am so sorry  I've just been a little busy lately and somehow I kept forgetting to come onto Metallichicks. However, I'll have to catch up on the fics I'm reading sometime tomorow because tonight I'm only on to post the next update of my fic and ask a question in the graphics section of the forum.

The months crept by, giving way to a serene springtime. Birds perched on budding trees and the breeze carried the delicate scent of flowers. Light rainshowers fell for the first week of April, nourishing the freshly awakening foliage. Lilith's mother was sticking true to her promise, but her father coninued to drink profusely and developed a growing apathy for work. Divorce seemed imminent.
Lilith's eighteenth birthday fell on the first day of Spring break.
''Before I leave, I just wanna say thanks for changing,'' Lilith spoke to her mother as they pulled up to the airport. ''Honestly, I wasn't sure at first that you could do it, but I'm glad you did.''
''Well, thanks for giving me a chance. I just wish your father would've made more of an effort to change. Anyway, I'm sure the guys are waiting for you.''
''Yeah,'' Lilith replied, lengthening the straps of her duffel bags, ''I guess I should get going. You're coming to the wedding, right?''
''I don't know. I'm probably gonna be pretty wiped out financially once the divorce between your father and I is made''
''The guys will pay for your plane tickets.''
''Well, as long as it's not too much trouble for them...''
''Don't worry, it won't be.'' Lilith bid farewell and hopped out from the jeep. She ambled towards the terminal, her duffel bags packed with her most important belongings. Her shadow trailed along beside her on the pavement in the tender Spring sunlight.
''There you are,'' came Cliff's voice from behind as Lilith wandered through the terminal. She turned around and immediately found herself in his embrace.
''It's great seeing you again,'' Lilith spoke, gazing lovingly at Cliff. Cliff kissed her passionatley as they held each other in a loving embrace.
''Okay, get a room, you two,'' James said with a laugh. ''We gotta get on the plane.''
''Hi, James,'' Lilith greeted, pulling away from Cliff slightly, but hardly taking her attention off him. He carried her bags as they trailed into the plane, where Kirk and Lars had already found their seats. Lilith greeted them both as she and Cliff sat down. Lars was sleeping with his headphones sounding like a distant racket, and his legs stretched out into the aisle. He didn't notice their arrival until one of Lilith's bags fell from the compartment above and onto his feet.
''Oh, hey Lilith,'' he said sleepily after waking up with a jolt.
On the way to California, Cliff and Lilith planned for the wedding, which, they decided, was to occur in a week after all the preparations were made. The idea of an island wedding was abandoned because it would pose too much a financial burden. They decided to simply get married down at the beach.
''What about after we're married?'' Cliff implored. ''Do you have any ideas about where you'd like to move to?''
''I guess I'd prefer living in the country, where it's more peaceful than the city.''
''That sounds good. There's some nice rural areas a couple towns east of San Francisco.'' Lilith smiled and laced her fingers in between Cliff's, and rested her head upon his shoulder. His flannel shirt was warm and soft against her cheek.
