METALLICA's "Madly in Anger with the World" tour rang up $53.8 million in total box office gross by the time it wrapped last month — enough to land the group at No. 5 on Billboard's list of top 10 grossing tours of the year.
METALLICA were the sole hard rock/heavy metal band on the list, which included such superstars as MADONNA, SHANIA TWAIN and PRINCE.
