Hi All & a re-introduction
A big hi to all who know/remember me. I've just started getting myself pro-active again over the last week or so as I've got a laptop and can now get more time on t'interweb! Not had much chance since moving from Tyneside to Sunny Northumberland a year ago. I'm really pleased to see this forum's still doing the business (especially having read of the concerns back in August).
Who am I? My name's Ash and I'm originally from the centre of the universe - well Northampton actually. I left there when I hit 20 and moved North - eventually taking route on Tyneside. I use the name Mapped Out as that's the name of the event I run Up't North (been running since 2001). I love my music more than anything (except my family) and am a busy bunny out DJing a lot of the time. I DJ regularly on the Northern Soul scene (and run the North Soul Union) and I'm the DJ for Ska Monkey (based in Ashington - who put on live bands). I've DJed for the last couple of years at the Run To The Hills scooter rally in Northumberland and host a couple of shows The Groove Bag & The Sunday Soul Train on Mod Radio UK (www.modradiouk.net). One thing I do with all my DJing (being an arsey twat) is insist on using real records (I leave the cd's in the car where they belong).
I was a member of the Northern Faces scooter club in Whitley Bay until time became an issue. I DJed weekly for the Sunderland Sophisticats at there get togethers - Top Peeps BTW! I've still got my two Vespas but neither are currently on the road. Maybe this summer!
Anyway - that's about my whack before this turns into an essay.

Cheers peeps - Life's grand just like Blyth. Being an adopted Northumbrian just suits me down to the ground. It's a full on mod county it's that elitist. Name another Kingdom. There's only two United Kingdom & the Kingdom of Northumbria .... How cool's that!
Nice to see you're still around Pete - hope life's exceptional for you mate. Sadly the Fed's no more. The promoters ended up with the venue trying to claw their eyes out. We (the North East Soul Union) put an event on in Sunderland that went down well (a mini-nighter). There was demand to do another one but it was really hard work and I don't have the time or inclination. Fortunately others have and there's another mini-nighter later this month in the North-East and an allnighter planned for next year. So things are good up here right now.
