Ayn Sapheq

I know this is old, but do you guys have any recordings by Ayn Sapheq? Even in rough, unreleased format? I'd be willing to pay whatever for it, because I can't find anything anywhere.

Hey, You must be an old friend of ours from the early days in Jerusalem, right before Moshav Band was formed. So there are a couple of Tapes or Cd's released under Ayn Safeq, but you have to write david@moshavband.com for details of how one would go about owning that stuff.
Hope this is helpfull. Peace, Yehuda.

Terrific!

Thanks to you both for responding. Yes, I remember Aryeh well...does he still live on the Moshav? Last I remember, his family was making wine by stomping on the grapes themselves emoticon

Can't wait to see you guys perform again in Toronto (or maybe I'll catch you again in Israel one day)!

Yes, that's Aryeh. Still on the Moshav, still stomping on grapes and making his own killer wine, and still writing great songs. We're actually covering one of his songs on a new cd we plan to release in Israel for Pessach. It's called MALACHIM.
Check it out on our website early may 2005.
Take care, and stay intouch.
Yehuda.

Well that's a tease if I ever heard one emoticon

I have a 4-song demo tape that one of the members gave me in Israel 9 years ago. It contains "kol hagvulot" "cry to me" "eser haolam hazeh" and "the endless road to you."

Can you beat it?

Beat it? Didn't realize we were going to have a contest emoticon

I have some personal unofficial live recordings from when I was in the band five or six years ago, something like that... that's probably later than the nine years ago you were talking about. It's also a slightly different incarnation of Ayn Sapheq than the one you're probably talking about, unless you caught us at Syndrome. I have a really nifty version of 'Songs that I Heard Back in Paradise,' recorded at Aaron's joint Syndrome, and I'll bet you a donut that it doesn't exist anywhere else in the world. At that point, there were no Moshav Band people nearby anymore... it was Aryeh, me, Barney, Chanan and Alicia. Check out www.Aliciajo.com because she's doing wonderful stuff these days. If you know Jason, check out www.streiml.com because he's also gotten some terrific music under his belt.

My tease note was more a tease for Duvid, Yehuda and Meir because they probably think I'm dead under a rock somewhere... I was a bandmate once, but it's been a hella long time.

Nine years ago I was a bartender at Mike's Place. Nowadays I'm a counselor for mentally challenged adults in upstate NY. These days I play in a band you can check out at www.olivedrabmusic.com. I warn you that I HATE the poor sound quality of the clips on that site though.

Okay okay okay... *blushes*

Wow, that's cool that you actually played in the band. And it was after the time that I was in Israel (probably during my days finishing up university in Toronto and lamenting the fact that the then best year of my life, at Hebrew U., was over) emoticon And I did frequent Mike's Place a lot during the year there. I remember a guy named Asaf, playing on stage regularly. I think he was the owner as well, but you would know for sure.

And that's awesome about the music news. I'll have to check out the sites you have listed. When I was in Israel, Ayn Sapheq was Aryeh, Duvid, Chanan and Danny. It's too bad that the one video I shot for posterity came out with the sound track warped.

But I will purchase the CDs that Aryeh has advertised to me recently. Big shout out to Duvid for hooking up that transmission.

Well, peace out Lyle, and I'll check out the sound clips soon.

Andrea

Wow, look what's goin' on on the runboard. Very cool, people popping out from the wood works and connecting. Andrea, thanks for finding our old Bass player. Lyle, man it's been a long while. How the hell are you? You're still alive. The last time i saw you, you were living in Brooklyn. I'm glad to hear that you're well and i'll tell Duvid you say hey. Hope we see you soon and get to jam or something, laugh about the mishineries in Texas, and talk about good old times. we come out to NY quite freequently. Take care and stay out of harms way.
Peace,
Yehuda and the boys.
