fall from the sky
CASE 1
showers of a silky substance fell in october 1820 around pernambuco,
brazil, covering an area that extended 90 miles inland and nearly as far
out to sea, where a french ship was festooned in it.
CASE 2
in 1828 several districts of persia were reported to be covered to a depth of
between seven and eight inches by a fall of material that was enthusiastically
eaten by livestock.
CASE 3
on june 23,1809,m.mauduy,curator of natural history at poitiers, france, was caught
in a heavy rainstorm.in the fallimg water he saw"little bodies the size of hazlenuts,
which in a moment, covered the ground, and which i recognized as little toads."
CASE 4
on may 5,1786,the last day of a drought that has lasted since the previous november,
"a great quantity"of black eggs fell on port-au-prince,haiti.they hatched
the next day,and some of these strange animals from the sky were preserved
in a flask of water.the creatures shed their skin several times and resembled tadpoles.
(taken from a readers digest book)
its a bit boring round our way,we only get rain

Re: fall from the sky
on 28th may 1881,during a thunderstorm on the outskirts of worcester, england,
tons of periwinkles and small hermit crabs fell on cromer gardens road and the
surrounding fields. They came down out of the sky in a broad band extending for about
a mile. When news of this amazing fall reached the centre of worcester,a town 40 miles
from the sea, many people hurried to cromer gardens road carrying pots, pans, bags
and even trunks. One garden alone yielded two sacks of periwinkles,10 sacks of them
altogether were taken back to the markets of worcester for sale.
Eels fell in hendon in the northeast of england on 24th august 1918.hundreds of them covered
a small area about 60 x 50 yards.
Live lizards fell on the streets of montreal, canada on 28th december 1857.snails fell in
such quantities in redruth, england on 8th july 1886,that people were able to gather them
up in hats.A yellow cloud appeared over padorbom, germany on 9th august 1892 and a torrent
of rain from it brought thousands on mussels.More recently,on 28th september 1953,a shower
of toads fell on orlando, florida in the middle of the afternoon.
