Soul Nomad irritations
Anyone else a little cheesed off by the Soul Nomad preorder situation? Normally I would have had no problem getting the limited version, but you wait until there's less then a month before release and then post a version that costs about $90 more then was expected. I find that very disappointing. I like the bonuses, but if you're going to charge that much for something a little advance warning would be nice. Now I have to see how much money I can scrape up for this one.

Re: Soul Nomad irritations
Dear rainking187,
We apologize for the delay. Preparation for the Soul Nomad bonus item took longer than we expected; therefore, we were unable to notify everybody in a timely period. We will do our best to prepare for our next title Disgaea PSP preorder. Again we apologize for any inconveniences that you may have experienced.
Sincerely,
RosenQueen

Re: Soul Nomad irritations
I don't want to be a punk about this, but to put it simply, there isn't enough "limited" stuff for that to cost what it does.
Also, it doesn't really specify how the poster will be shipped? Are you going to be charging more for tube shipping? If I'm paying $134.99 for something and the poster gets folded, I'd be pissed. But then, if I have to pay for tube shipping and multiple other shipping prices, we're probably looking at a $160 game.
I've played through most of Soul Nomad, and while I absolutely loved it, I think this pricing is just madness. Other companies print shirts for free and give them away as pre-order items. What's the deal here? Why is this priced so high if the game it's coming with is just the retail product? Certainly there needs to be more SPECIAL for this to be worth the value.
Also, is the mouse pad a foam piece of trash? You can get custom printed IceMat's made in volume for $40 a piece or so, if you're making at least 200 of the LTD, I can easily EASILY see myself paying $134.99 for the package. But then, it's a PS2 game. What is a mouse pad doing in there? Basically, as a collector, this is a ridiculous product for the value. I collect games. Atlus just nailed it with the Growlanser set, and made an OK game worth owning. Soul Nomad is worth owning, no question, it's fantastic, but this set just doesn't do it justice.
To put it simply: you messed up, might as well take the time to make the set worth it. Here's a link to the icemat site: http://www.icemat.com/products/icematgear/custom-branded_icemats - Do the Right Thing.

Wow talk about grumpy(person before me). If you don't like it then don't buy it.
As far as I see it they aren't bonuses, but a compelete package of items you are paying for. I'm pretty sure NIS doesn't make enough money to just give away a bazzlion free tshirts.

Re: Soul Nomad irritations
While it is an expensive set, it's not the only one available. I would just buy the game and get the merchandise separately if I really wanted it, but it's up to you if you feel the 134 USD price tag is worth it or not.
Since it's not, it's best to just not buy it or argue it. It's fine to complain about it, but the set's already made, I do not think they'll be making changes anytime soon.

Re: Soul Nomad irritations
I'm getting the game. That's it. MAYBE the soundtrack, but only after I here it in-game.
I'll agree that price, even for all that stuff, is ridiculous.

Re: Soul Nomad irritations
Yeah it is a little expensive. Like $20 for a OST that usually comes for free with the game? Though granted there is 2 Discs on this one, but doesn't Japan usually get that for free as a preorder bonus as well, or am I mistaken?
All I really care about this time around is the poster and the guide. I would want the mousepasd well, but I already ordered the Phantom Brave one. Oh well.

Yeah, but stuff costs money; none of Nippon-Ichi's soundtracks have rarely ever been included with the U.S. release of the game, and not very many limited editions that include them, or separate soundtracks are ever printed.
At least, this way, we can all get the soundtrack without having to spring for some limited edition version, and we can choose whether we want to pay for it or not, instead of paying $60 for the game and soundtrack packaged together when perhaps we don't even want the soundtrack.
$20 for a 2-disc set is actually a good deal, so long as it's a carbon copy of the original Japanese version.
But as for how much all those other add-ons cost, yeeessshhh...

Re: Soul Nomad irritations
Also, I should note - The JPN version of the game with the OST included IS NOT FREE. It is about 10 dollars more expensive, but in Japan there's more of a market for those things compared to the United States. Supply and Demand is a very tricky thing to balance...

Re: Soul Nomad irritations
I find it kind of funny that the poster I would put on my wall is the one included in the Ultimate Collector's set. I think my wallet will have to settle for the Soundtrack and game instead.
