Another newcomer!
New to the forums, here's my obligatory "check me out!" thread.
I decided to sign up so that I could share info on some discs I acquired with those that (I hope) will enjoy it. I came into some PSP beta discs of NIS titles and am currently pulling them apart looking for various differences and such versus the retail versions.
The three I landed are Spectral Souls (misspelled on the disc as Spectural Souls), Blade Dancer, and Dragoneer's Aria. I'm currently working on Spectral, found some simple differences... grammatical alterations and whatnot. Not incredibly substantial but still cool to poke through something that normally doesn't get seen.
Here are the goods. You can see the misspelling on the first disc. I think that's cool just because.
Retail version...
Beta version... you can see the tiny difference.
I'm 'diff'ing the files within each disc to find other differences, but I am quite certain that much of what's actually different is going to be revealed by gameplay. I'm cool with that
Anywho, enough me-me-me. What's happening in NIS land?

Re: Another newcomer!
Thanks for the welcomes
I picked them up from various people on gaming boards' buy/sell sections. I guess the guys are/were or knew someone who knew someone who worked for Sony or was a game developer at NIS and the discs just followed the trail. How they originally leaked out I haven't a clue. They're practically worthless to developers after they're tested however they are almost guaranteed buy-bait for us collectors. I lost the chance to pick up a beta of Aedis Eclipse, but I am sure that other opportunities will arise. Who knows, given the proper trade fodder, that AE beta could be mine someday.
I'd love to get in touch with someone at NIS to see if there was any sort of changelog for these...
