NIS' Official Response about Pre-Order Music CD

quote:

We are very sorry that you did not receive the Bonus Soundtrack CD with your pre-order of Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana. We did our best to provide the retailers with enough disks to match their pre-orders. Unfortunately, we do not have any control over the distribution of the disks to the individual retail locations. The only place where we have control over the inclusion of all appropriate pre-order bonus items is our online store. We also do not have any copies of the soundtrack CD to send out. We apologize for this inconvenience. Thank you for pointing out this thread on our message boards, and though we may not always post often, we do monitor the boards. Most of all, thank you for supporting our titles.

This is the response I got after checking with NIS Support. While disappointing, it's nice to see that they took the time to explain! I post this so that those who missed out on the CD (like myself) and were wondering what happened can get some Official insight. Congratulations to those who received a Soundtrack, and my condolences to those who missed out...

No offense to anyone in particular, but this is where I get to insert a big, fat "I told you so" to everyone who still waited for an explanation even after I said the exact same thing in the other thread.

Yeah i didnt think they would give cd's out to people who didnt get any cause they'd probably have to spend more money to ship to each and every one of us and probably to some people who will lie and say they didnt get it and just want another copy.

But really they blame shouldnt fall on them they did send the cds its the stores that are imcompetant retards that cant even give people the preorder bonuses when they did preorder.

That explains it all... ;_; Though I have to say, I'm rather dissapointed. I was looking forward to the music cd. Hmmm... I hope they make it available through the online store.

Give NIS a break. They're not that established yet and AI:EM is just the 2nd title they have started publishing. But I think the 1 month delay could have been the main cause of the CDs running out since several people who preordered the game from the stores didn't buy the game when it was released.

You know you shouldn't blame the retailers we don't get enough of the pre-order stuff most of the time. Like with the sound track we only got four of them and six reservations. So please don't take it out on us.

"But really they blame shouldnt fall on them they did send the cds its the stores that are imcompetant retards that cant even give people the preorder bonuses when they did preorder. "

The problem with this logic is that the stores would have had to receive them in order to give them out. Our store got a whopping two OSTs, which means even the employees who preordered did not all get them, they actually gave them to others.

So the problem actually was that they just should have advertised them as an extremely limited run, like the disgaea figures, they should not have told EB games and others that if you preorder you are guaranteed one, cause online EBgames and others said that flat out, so somewhere along the lines, the PR for this release got messed up.
