I'm thinking of getting this game, can some people answer some questions I have?
Ok, I went to the official site, and on paper, it seems to be yet another amazing tactics game from NIS, but some things have me worried.
Read the other threads in this forum, and you'll have an ideaa, what I'm worried about.
1: I have no problem with a game being hard (I'm old school, I played games that are far harder then most could evem imagine, and beat them, most of which I beat dozens of times by now), but is it true, that basically char die, in one hit?
2: Is this talk about a bug, preventing you from putting char into play true, and if so, is it known, what triggers the bug(can it be gotten around, and is there a way to get the said bugged char, unbugged)?
PS. Also, feel free to post what you thought about the game(if you didn't like something, please also put down why you didn't like a certain aspect).

Re: I'm thinking of getting this game, can some people answer some questions I have?
Let's see...
1. One-hit kills are like most NIS games. Anyone without high DEF or RES and HP will drop in a hit or two, but since you can pretty much choose your enemies, this can be avoided by picking enemies you can drop in a few hits.
2. Never heard of it.
Some things are annoying. TEC has no buffs, making it the weakest, and many weapons are difficult to use correctly. Balloons O.B. the user on any attack (O.B. is Out of Bounds, like dieing but you can still use a replacement for them.), and Fishing Poles have the nasty habit of O.Bing an enemy (Bad, it ditributes the enemy's EXP amongst the living ones). Vehicles are cool, but can't reach max level, and they require SP to do anything, AND count as two characters. Many Weapons seem hard to find on my save, while my brother can't find others (I see Balloons, Hammers, and Drums everywhere, but other than the Box that is on a preset stage, I haven't seen any, yet my brother's save is full of Fans and Boxes, and he hasn't seen a Pie). Some of the cooler weapons are unbuyable, and the shop is full of ATK and TEC weapons, but only two give INT and only one uses INT for it's attacks.
I highly recommend it. The Free Grid makes the battles funner, too.

Well, yea if you use a char with crap equips, and the enemy is ao a lv much higher then your char. I meant in general, if both char are equal, or have a 25% max difference between both char, would it be a 1 hit kill, to the char that is only slightly weaker?
Ah that's good, becuase that was scaring me.
Can you explain what you mean about "choose your enemies" ? Aren't they preset in the story, and radomized outside the stoy battles?
Ah ok, I guess I will need to be careful while using fishing poles then lol, I don't know how a Fishing Pole knocks someone back lol, but whatever(where do they come up with this stuff lol).
I'n not new to that when it comes to tactic games, aside from Disgaea, shops generally don't have good stuff.
Hm interesting, either you have crappy luck, or it sounds like the item drop tables are pre-generated when yo first creat a new game.
Well, as long as there is pleanty of magic weapons in the game that can be found, there's no problem there.
Thank you.

Re: I'm thinking of getting this game, can some people answer some questions I have?
Equips aren't to important in this game, as a character can get up to 800000 ATK, and equips push this just over 1 million.
Oh, and by choosing your enemies, some stages ARE random - you choose an overlord to make them. Pick someone like Pram for Magic Casters who get downed in one shot, or Seedle for Melee Dudes who can't take a spell (Or getting beat down by a VERY girlie staff.)
ATK Weapons so far outweigh regular ones in quanity. The INT was that are in are very good, however. They even have a RES Weapon, the Syringe, and Balloons us SP, but you need a Prinny God to use them or they go O.B.
Fishing Poles don't smack things off the edge, they reel them in to far. Then they go flying over your head. Unless they are right at the end of a Fishing Pole's Attacking Range, they'll end up behind you.

Ah ok, sticking with the true nature of the demons then(they're insanely powerful without weapons), so opposed to most games where weapons are the most important thing, things like armer, and HP buffing equips(SP buffing for the magic users) are the most important thing in Makai Kingdom.
Ah, ok I get it(aka the old I want my netherworld back), I really need to stop thinking of myself as the hero, when playing NIS games lol), so each Overlord has a characteristic on what type of demons they like to use(you want to give a certain Overlord a beatdouwn, becuase he looked at you the wrong way, do it).
Correct me if any of that is wrong, but is that what you are getting at?
Ah ok
Ah ok, now that makes some sense. Do the Fishing Pole items tell you how long the line is(in the item info), or I need to test it at a range and see how far over me it goes? Also are all the Fishing Poles the same length(if there are even multiple types)?
Just out of curiosity, how many hours of gameplay can I exect it to be worth(lol I'm over 300 hours already on Disgaea 2, and I still need to unlock the higher lv forms of some of the classes)?
PS. Well I ordered it from RQ.
I'm kind of interested to see Zetta before he was turned into a book, and what kind of abilities he had. I just hope the game is as good as it seems to be.

Re: I'm thinking of getting this game, can some people answer some questions I have?
Personally, I feel that Shoes and a Respective Attacking Stat Boosting Gear are the best. Armor is pretty weak, and the good pieces either take away ATK and TEC, or MOVE and JUMP, all important stats. HP and SP boosting things are hard to come by, but they'll be thanked, as only a few weapons boost these stats.
The overlords are trying to help you, as Zetta has friends or something. I think they all just want something from him or are bored. You pick the one to make the world that you then go down into and beat the residents of that world up.
All Fishing Poles have the same range, and some skills might be longer range than others.
I've been playing for 30 hours and have just beaten the story. I'd say around 180 Hours, more if you take the trouble to get maxed equips and the maxed item to put your demons into.
Sadly, you don't get to see much when you play as him, though I recommend you look at all his skills except Slash, you won't be seeing them for a while.
As a book, he can still ZETTA BEAM!!! though.

Ah ok
Hm, with friends like that, who needs enemies.
Ah ok
I look foward to it.
Yea, Zetta Beam is no joke.
PS. Thanks again.
