archers in PB are good for the instant-action skill like Ash's
never really used their bow skill 
i like the model used for archers though, they look very nice

The Archers are soooo cute! I wish I could cosplay an Archer!
The reason that the archers keep coming back is because Japan LOVES the Archer. If they tried to release a NIS game without the archer, Japan would quake with rage... fiery rage!
Besides, do you REALLY wish she called 'Gunner'? I think you're missing the humor of the fact that there's been archers in two games now that can't even use bows...
