Key? Ok, I don't have the book for the game (as I am renting from Gamefly) and maybe i missed it in the tutorials.. but what does "KEY" mean floating over someone?
Re: Key? By defeating the "key" enemy/plant you gain access to other parts of the map. Sometimes it will be optional to kill the "key" enemies since you'll get most of your bonus points in the part of the area you start in. But often you will have to use the key areas.

Re: Key? On the topic of Keys, what use is the UFO move that steals the area key from an enemy? I had assumed it would open up the extension when I stole the Key, but it just made 'Key' float over my thief's head; I ended up throwing something OB to make the area appear. Is there some way to make the thief then use the Key to open the extension, or do you have to kill your own thief (which seems pretty useless)?

Re: Key? Key never floats over an item if a character is holding it. So I'm sure the thief gets it. But, there could be a use for stealing the key. I mean you don't have to actually destroy the key to unlock a new map. OB'ing an object or character into the area where a new map should be will make it appear.
Might be a good idea to keep a lookout for multiple map extensions. Now all have a key to unlock them.
Re: Key? Well that's just what was going around on the GameFAQs board. Like I said, I've never tried it myself, and it didn't seem to make much sense for the item to have the key over the character's head either =/

Still holding my breath for the other Marl Kingdom games.
Re: Key? Sometimes a key is floating over a powerful enemy that you do want to take out. I mean leaving him around to wipe out your mages and healers would cause problems.
Re: Key? Very rarely, keys are non-existant. And while OB'ing becomes an option, what happens if you've killed all of the enemies? Simple. You wait. Some Extensions appear after a certain turn limit. One of the stages I've been to had an Extension in which I had to wait 3 turns, another 2, and then one had a key on the extension where you had to wait 3 turns to access...
Re: Key? I never heard of that happening. I've only seen areas with two extensions at once, but one required you to find it and toss something there to unlock it.
