Re: Adell flaming? I know a few instances where the characters were in love from the start and it wasn't that interesting. You knew who'd get with one another right away. But if there are some that care for in a friendship way and some that fight and you don't know which the hero likes better (cuz I've seen instances where the hero is friends with someone and doesn't fight but it turns to love) there's more debate.
Of course, when the love interest is that perfectly molded together from the beginning I've seen the greatest number of people rebelling against the canon.

Re: Adell flaming? Honestly, most romances are boring, but when you have two especially interesting characters it can be notable as long as it's only one facet of the dynamic between the characters.

Re: Adell flaming? Yeah, until Adell's femmephobia was explained, I simply took it that he was mentally young and thus not interested in girls because of underdeveloped yadda-yadda-yadda...psychology...sociology...technical words...yadda.
Of course, doesn't this usually happen in anime, in which the guy's not interested in the girl, and it's usually the girl who has to prod the guy into liking her? I think it's just a Japanese thing, which contrasts with the American philosophy that a guy ought to bang anything female that lives and breathes.
