Whats the deal with the nekomatas?

Why is everybody sayin catch the 9999 ones and wanting them sooo bad.. im obviously missing something here.. cuz i have one and its not doin anything special..

There's a trick you can abuse in order to capture level 9999 Nekomatas.

I have an army of them myself.

It involves one of the maps in chapter... 3 maybe? I don't remember exactly, but it has a waterfall and a lot of Nekomatas with a geo panel effect that causes their levels to grow each turn.

Essentially, the trick is to catch one that has a level just under twice what the highest level person in your base is. Then you continue this process until you're able to catch a level 9999 one. Be careful, though. Any allies that die in your base during a capture count as ally kills, as far as I remember.

what I did was I got to the last nekomata job, went to the land of carnage and captured one at level 9999, its max level and has double stats.

I got one then used it to steal ultimate weapons from item gods in the land of carnage
