This is pretty common in Japan. ^_^
I thought you were from...pfff...Europe.
I knew the Japanese were ripping off our words, but I didn't know they were ripping off our words to rip the letters out of them so that they could just make stuff up!
XD lol well said.
I agree they sounded weird because they looked like acronyms, but werent and its just odd (to me) to take a word and rip half the letters out and then capitalize it for no reason. like PRNYDNC sounds pretty silly D:

Re: Disgaea Infinite!
Those aren't exclusive to Japan. We use them as well. It's just that they have distinctions when it comes to certain genres, unlike here. It's pretty much bias that affects us.
For example, what you call a Visual Novel here(VN), they actually have two different classifications for them, those being ADV and a "true" Visual Novel format.
The distinction between the two comes from how the text is presented. Most ADVs will have the text in a message box format, while with true VN(abbreviated NVL), the text will fill the screen.
The meaning is pretty much lost in English because of it.

Because "Uguu!" is cliche...

Re: Disgaea Infinite!
I love the idea of a new Disgaea game, starring Prinny and encompasing all the Disgaea games.
However, not so much as an adventure game. As a visual comic/playable movie, I doubt it will make it stateside in that format.
Uggh. Hopefully the PSN will offer up a demo.
