The purpose of wieghts?
I'm a bit unsure what the purpose of wieghts are. They don't increase your stats that much and reduce your HP to 25%. They do help your character use their critcal abilities but that is it.
I suspect that they allow greater stat increases at a level up but I can't really confirm this. Does anyone know what they do?

Weights are just used to lower HP for a class’ special ability. Like Ninja’s gain more evasion when they have 25% or lower HP.

Oh that is kind of a bust. I did enjoy using the female ninja's double attack. But still 25% HP makes them easy to kill.
When they do die the weight seems to vanish and your character will be able to fight next map with one HP.

Giving a Ninja a good fist, Accelerators (or any shoe if unavailable), and a speed weight and you've got yourself a a near-unhittable ninja with high movement! probably common knowledge by now though

Just unequip the weight when the battle starts and that way if the character dies you won't lose it.

Nice thing is that for Samurai, it gives critical, which means you can take out almost anyone regardless of level. It also grants a resurrection, so you can use it in the item world to die on one level, and be reborn on the next board.
