Dark World


In the Coluseum(sp) where you fight the prinny bowlers, it's said in the guide that you access the Dark World by using "Attack" or "Special" once. I'm kicking myself trying to understand what I'm doing wrong. I figure the trick is to use that one attack to destroy the No Lifting Geo Symbol, then toss the Prinnies. However, I can't open up the Dark World stage. Could the guide have misprinted or gotten it wrong, or is it something I'm doing? Much appreciated.

Hmm...the guide says "Clear the stage by attacking once". Maybe the game's counting destroying the Geo Symbol as an attack and closing off the Dark World because of it? See if you can get a long-range attacker to destroy the lead Prinny with one hit and start a chain reaction that way (maybe if you equip a magic user or a Gunner with an Accelerator, they might be able to just reach the head-pin Prinny with an attack).

P.S. Legacy of Laharl, eh? You wouldn't happen to be a member of the AFC boards too, would you?

I know you can toss the "ball" Prinny in the right place if you have a Heavy Knight, not sure if 5 Throw also can work (I only tried it once b/c I didn't think the first time & my 3rd Cycle won't let me get out of Cave of Ordeals to do Mr. Power Leveling)

Oh, expletive deleted. Y'see, this is why I shouldn't post right before bed.

Now that my brain's functioning again, I remember that destroying a Prinny normally won't cause it to go boom as if you'd thrown it.

Anyway, BoogieKnight -- I think the problem is that the game's counting the Prinny toss as an "attack" for purposes of opening the Dark World, so your strategy has two "attacks":

1. Destroy Geo Symbol.
2. Throw Prinny at Prinny Bowling Formation.

IIRC, the manual's introduction to this stage in the normal world mentions creating a "timed fuse" of Prinnies so that you can toss a Prinny from the Base Panel (since the No Lifting geo effect only means you can't lift anything that's on the panel; if a character's on a No Effect geo panel, he/she/it can still life something that isn't) and trigger a chain reaction that leads to the tenpin Prinnies.

Interesting, I'll try this out. I appreciate the help.

The AFC sounds familiar, but I'm not a member. I got the title from the Legacy of Kain series, and the initials for the comic are LoL emoticon

EDIT: Came across a problem. Even when using a heavy knight, the Prinny falls short of the target. If anyone has accessed that Dark World stage, it would help if they remembered exactly what they did.

I've noticed 2 typos in the guide so far for unlocking Dark World levels. I dont remember which levels they were, but it is pretty infuriating that the typos got past the testers. I started reading one of the guides on Gamefaqs for unlocking Dark World stuff and it's been 100% right so far, including the ones the official guide got wrong.

I'll check it out, thanks. That's the last Dark World map I need to clear, so it's been frustrating.

EDIT: From what I've gathered, Stage 6-4 opens if you beat it by moving under X amount of spaces.

Here is exactly what I did in the attempt that opened the gate: I took a Heavy Knight with shoes five spaces forward, moved another character next to the Base Panel and tossed Tink to the Knight who then tossed Tink six spaces. I neglected to collect Tink Lovers or equip him with Accelerators so he could only move 8 spaces, but he did get past the Prinnies.

I had to end the turn, and two Prinnies attacked Tink. Luckily, they failed to Paralyze him so on the next turn he could move and destroy the No Lift Symbol. I took Adell out cause he had a good throwing arm, and so threw him with the two characters I already had out. Adell lands next to the pointman Prinny and tosses him five spaces into the crowd. Boom, boom. The gate opens.
