Quick Help:

This is in two parts, an overview and a semi-detailed explanation from what I know.

Overview:

***Whenever you start your turn, this is your menu!

CMD- Command: Allows you to move the cursor freely and select units.

Shop: Brings up a list of town stores you can currently go to. This list is affected by what towns are in your control. Items differ based on town.

MAP- Map: Shows a highlighted trail of who owns what parts of the map. Blue squares are yours, red are the enemy's.

Save: Self-explanatory.

View: Brings up a list of the different things in game that you can look at. Commanders, HQ, Prisoners, Unit Types, Items, and Skills can be looked at through this organizational method. This is useful for quickly overviewing all of your resources and troops.

PER- (Not sure): Allows you to see what troops are getting paid in order from lowest to highest or highest to lowest, and allows you to change up who gets paid what.

FUN- Functions: Game options.

Done: Again, self-explanatory.

~~~~~~~~~~
Whenever a unit of yours is in a city, a cave, or a star-square:
MOVE: Brings up a list of characters that are on that square, and the white-colored ones can be used to move.
R&D: Allows you to use characters to change the landscape around the commander.
POLI- (Not sure): Allows you to use commanders to fortify a place (cities only) which eventually gives you a backup defense as it gets higher. Allows for investing, which increases how much money you make per turn. Allows for alliancing, which can help when taking down larger armies. Alliancing gives you the chance to make peace with other armies.
PRS- Prisoners: Displays a list of prisoners with that particular commander. Each prisoner can be looked at (Stats), Converted (Conversion), Released, or Executed.
Lord: Assigns a landlord. (Not sure of what this does)
RCT- Recruiting: Allows you to replenish units that are missing troops.
LOY- Loyalty: Make commanders like you more by giving gifts (money) and items to try and win their favor.
SCH- Search: IMPORTANT. Takes away a unit to search for any random thing in the game. (This means rare items, hidden characters, new commanders, random fights, and occasionally special character interaction.)
STAT- Status: Gives the status of each unit. Skills and equipment can ONLY be modified at these locations.
ARG- (Not sure): Haven't used this yet...not sure.
EXTRA NOTE: Whenever you are not in one of the above listed locations, you cannot SCH, POLI, R&D, Lord, RCT, or ARG.
Hopefully this'll help you get started.
Good luck and have fun!!
Re: Need help to play GoC
I filled in a few gaps angelofragnarok left out.
PER- Personnel
POLI- Politics
SHOP - Items sold in a shop depend on which city you visit and the level of market it has. A level 5 market means the best (and rarest) items are available.
Lord: The city's landlord gives bonuses to building forts and markets if their stats are high enough.
ARG- Arrange the order that units are listed. The top 4 are the ones that fight if the town is attacked. The remaining units do not fight and do not count towards the number of active commanders fielded (50 iirc). This also means that if you have like twelve units in a city that gets overrun you lose the other eight.
I hope this helps a bit.
Thanks Much help.
Now how do you replenish SP points? Can you do so in battle?
How do you use things other than herbs in battle?
When you buy things are they avaliable for everyone or do you have to assign them to a group?
How do yo equip weapons and armor?
How do you change unit types?
Can you have multiple unit types in one group?
Sorry if these things are somewhere else. If they are please point me to the answers.
