Just finished, my thoughts
I know this board doesn't get much traffic, but I figure I would post a few thoughts about the game, having just finished it.
Took me about 31 hours, with most of my characters level 40 and Viese level 30. I will have to agree with many previous posts around the NIS boards, this game was far too easy. Never had my party perish, and the only battles I found difficult were a few random battles near the end of the game. Getting the cure gem right before Palaxious made him a push-over, and pumping up my team with Mana Cores also made things significantly easier. The battle system was a lot of fun, trying to chain as many hits together as possible. I like the encounter meter, allowing me to run around as much as I want after a few random encounters like in Ar Tonelico, but that made me hate the final areas of the game. I knew I was really close to finishing the game, yet I was plagued by random battle after random battle.
Just as in Atelier Iris 1 and Ar Tonelico, I loved the characters and the humor. Poe was obnoxious at first, but he grew on me. I wish the plot would have delved more into Gray's background and his thoughts/feelings on being a dragon, and Noin's reasons for joining Simsilt. I enjoyed the plot, I just felt like it had a lot more room to grow.
One of the biggest gripes about AI2 is the dungeon design. The dungeons were often bland and boring and had poor layouts. A little more visual flair could have spiced it up, and maybe a mini-map?
Can't wait to dig in to AI3 and Mana Khemia, both which call to me from my shelf.
--- Will kill for Ar Tonelico 2

Re: Just finished, my thoughts
Poe's line right after the wedding was an instant classic. Even so, I still couldn't bring myself to like him for anything beyond comic relief.
I agree that dungeon maps would have come in handy, escpecially when looking for the chests.
I don't remember much, but I thought it was explained why Noin joined Simsilt...
Ah well, this is still my second favorite Atelier game behind MK.

Re: Just finished, my thoughts
It's just for me, or the forest in Eden (I forget its name) has a layout that like Living Forest in MK?
