Concerning End Game Recipes (highly spoilerish) Near the end of the game I received quite a bounty of parts that can be used to make a Rayvetail. I'm curious but wouldn't that then suggest that you could create a new body for Mir? Meaning I messed up.
Also is the single Akashic Record the only one you can get? Cause I used my Mercury Element to create my Guardian of Elemria armor without realizing its "importance". Assuming I'm on the money with my guess.

I don't have a clue about the first part, but I do know there is more than one Akashic Record (though I originally thought there would be only one, too). I ended the game with 5, including the one I used in the Guardian of Elemria armor. It surprised me when it happened, but it is definitely a "high grade item" dropped by an enemy (not a boss), but I cannot remember which one. I am pretty certain the enemy was in the area where Ayatane rejoins the group. I remember fighting a lot of enemies there trying to get more of those darn Photon Oscilliscopes.
Actually, I see I have the monster card for the enemy that dropped it. It was Hellstorm, a white "dragon" type enemy. Located in the Plasma Bell and Tower Interior A6 + A7. Which is good, since there is one weapon recipe that takes both a Akashic Record and a Mercury Element.
