Photon Glass question

Does anyone know what the Photon Glass is used for? I want to say it's for the Musical Corridor, but I'm not sure how it's used.

If you accidentally break one of the mirrors in the Musical Corridor, the Photon Glass can be used to replace it. Other than that, there is no purpose for it.

Note that one of the mirrors has to be broken to fix the climate controller.
