NIS America contracts with Gust to bring you Atelier Iris ~Eternal Mana~
Great news for RPG fans! NIS America will work with Gust Co., LTD. to bring you Atelier Iris ~Eternal Mana~.
Atelier Iris ~Eternal Mana~ is the sixth installment in a popular line of alchemy-based simulation titles.
The game is still under approval process by Sony, but if it is approved, Iris will arrive to our shores!
We are confident that NIS fans will enjoy Iris and we certainly love to bring it over, but we need your help. Voice your opinions (good or bad) about Iris on forums to give Sony a reason why the title should be published here in the States! Also let us know if you would like to see Iris arrive to our shores or not.

I've been interested in Atelier Iris ever since I first saw it!
Those are some VERY NICE 2D graphics! And I hope the gameplay keeps up with it.
Great pick, NIS! Now let's hope SCEA approves it.

This is fantastic news. Ever since I saw screens of this game a while ago I have been salivating over it.
But I am going to hold my breath because it still needs to be approved by SCEA and we all know what that is all about.
stupid SCEA.

Re: NIS America contracts with Gust to bring you Atelier Iris ~Eternal Mana~
The thing is, SCEA seemed to let BOTH la pucelle AND disgaea through just fine.
Not letting through Iris would just be stupid of them!
Iris is in full hi-res 2d, and just looks GORGEOUS!! It plays well, has a neat fight system, and the alchemy aspects rock! Not to mention, it has a beautiful soundtrack, and from what i could tell a good story. It would be a nice way of introducing people into the series as well.
Anyway, i'm still blown away that NIS is wanting to bring this game over. When i imported it, i was like "there's NO WAY anyone will bring this over". Then i figured "hey, maybe mastiff will bring it over?". And now NIS is doing it n_n
When i had read this news, it sooooo made my day! (Once it's been approved, i can sell my import to my friend :P )

I think the reason they let Disgaea and La Pucelle through was because those games still had elements of 3D (such as the battlefield environments)
Now I don't know if Atelier Iris is like this or if it is full 2D but I am just keeping my fingers crossed.
As far as I know SCEA is the reason we aren't getting the real Tales of Destiny 2 (but then again this could just be because Namco Hometek are a bunch of brainless morons)

HOLY CRAP. The graphics are BEAUTIFUL. The 2D sprites are detailed, beautiful anime character designs. <immense drooling commence> Judging from what the alchemy-based system looks like, this game should give a deep gameplay. Also note the Valkyrie Profile/Lunar type battle system...
I really hope Sony approved the release of the game...

SO AWESOME~!
Konnichi wa Nippon Ichi!
I must say that you guys have made my day (that being today, ) by announcing the RPG/Strat series I thought would never come over State side!
You guys are the absolute greatest! I'm finally going to get to play Atelier Iris!
I know Sony still has to approve the game, but if they don't, I'll start a petition to get it over here! I wanted that game so much. But because I know so little Japanese, I'd rather have it in my native language. It's going to be great to get this wonderful 2D game over here because I miss these style of games. Nostalgia factor aside, they still look much better than most games, IMHO.
...heh, I sound like a ten year old on a sugar rush. Which is so awesome! I haven't felt this giddy about a game coming over in a long time! Consider Atelier Iris - Eternal Mana pre-ordered!
BTW, thanks for bringing over so many games that most likely never would've been given a shot on this side of the world!
