Re: NIS America contracts with Gust to bring you Atelier Iris ~Eternal Mana~
I'd like to see it released here as well. I've fallen in love with the item creation aspects in Alteir Iris. The collection of raw materials and experimentation are a great mix. Though the 9 item limit is irritating at times, it would have been nice to be able to store items at home base, then the limit wouldnt bother me. I think what I like about creating new items both from a slate recipe and from alterations is not only do you get the reward of the item its self you also get the character reactions with the store owner associated with it. I especially had a blast with the item shop and the interplay with Lita. These scenes help to flesh out the characters and world.
I think the rpg element enhances the experience since you can create items that have anouther level of usefullness associated. The battle system is pretty solid kind of like a cross between that found in Lunar and Final Fantasy. I was kind of dissapointed when I first equiped a different weapon to a character and their battle sprite didt change to reflect the weapon. Not major but a minor let down. What I think bothered me more is with how good the battle sprites are they overlap by alot when they are all in the same rank. I liked the character balance in regard to what types of enemies they were best against. The enemies themselves were nice as well. Fighting the jewel boss was a real treat as well, not only did it look cool but it was pretty difficult with the wide attacks it used and the healing.
The unlockables for item collection were a welcome touch as well. With how good this game is I can only imagine what the next will be like and look forward to its release.

I also would like to express my interest in Atelier Iris Eternal Mana II to be translated as well. And I’m hoping it has a better ending.
