This is AWESOME news. I saw those screenshots, which I assume are from some early work of the game... and I already want it! I'm glad to see they're building on the PB engine.

Re: Phantom Kingdom announced for the PS2 platform

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant that I considered both PB and Disgaea to be turn-based. I just meant that I hope that Phantom Kingdom has the same turn-based aspect as PB....meaning that turns are based on Speed. I enjoyed that a lot more after playing with it than the "My turn, Your turn" type of turn base.....heheeh sorry for the confusion.

Nah, ya didn't confuse me. I was just saying that I saw it in a different light than you did =) On that note, I hope it's more like PB too. I rather like that you can completely out-speed your oppenent with enough work.

PB wasn't turn based. La Pucelle was.

I was hoping it would be more speed based like PB as well, but i have read elsewhere that it is going to be team turn based like Disgaea. This was off of a translation from a japanese article so it may be just the translators interpretation, but that was what i read.

this looks really cool from the details that I've heard. It sounds like a cross between disgaea and phantom brave, with a few extra innovations thrown in.

This is what I have gathered so far from the pictures. This game has three equip slots for misc items like Disgaea. And the weapons used are in relations to Phantom Brave. There seems to be a relation of confinement brought around in the form of a group being brought in with a the invite of a "castle" unit. The battle system seems to be speed based like Phantom Brave and free movement, which is also a plus. There is now mobil armors in the game. Correct me if this appears wrong.

Man I am already got my money ready, once the word is out when this game is coming to North America I am going to be reserving a copy, like every Nis game for the ps2 emoticon.

Funny quick story. When Disgaea was releashed, ironically on the same day as Soul Caliber 2 I went to EB. There were two line ups, one out of the store and another with 2 other people. The one out of the store was for Soul Caliber 2. The other was for normal purchases. I got in that line and got my copy of Disgaea, I knew some guy from the other line and he was questioning why I was going for such a "lame" game. Two weeks later, he's bored stupid with Soul Caliber 2 and comes over to play the "lame" game. Well he kicked himself till Disgaea was releashed in Saskatoon. emoticon That game was eat up so fast the second time and any used copies are gone.

Curious if this will happen with Phantom Kingdom.

I didn't really like the grid being gone in PB, I liked the grid with squares alot better it was less confusing, but unfortuatly for me, it looks like this game will be like PB in that aspect. Oh well, this still looks like a very cool game.
