Re: PSP Version?
The games is more of a port of the PS2 game with way longer loading times.
So the names of the party members, NPC's and the father of Vayne are still spelled the same way as the PS2 game.
However the freezing glitch (lots 46 to 57) of the bonus dungeon for the fixed non boss battles got fixed for the PSP version.
While the PSP version does give you the weapons armors and accessories they are in recipe form.
But for some reason the bonus dungeon weapons can NEVER be actually made since they don't appear on the list of weapons when you attempt to make them.
Which in turn sucks since the bonus dungeon weapons still have its own encyclopedia entery and the game does have a rumor that needs a 100% encyclopedia enter to get it.

Re: PSP Version?
Playing it on the original PSP (1000?) and then on the PSP-3000, the difference was undeniable. We're talking about loading times going from 20 seconds to about 7, and from 7 seconds to about 2.
This is with the Jump Start file downloaded to the MS, and for the PSP-3000, UMD caching on. It seriously made all the difference in the world -- the game is completely playable now on the PSP. And damn good too!

Re: PSP Version?
Did you use the umd version or did you use the iso version ?
I have the psp 2000 and the game still lag like hell even with jump start
I was watching this youtube vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHXlGZQAweE , and have too say why NIS didn't do it like that...
I know that this person is using the iso version but still...
I really hope that NIS is releasing a patch or something that will fix this problem.
Maybe change the speed from 222 mhz to 333 mhz
Edit: i forgot to write that the battle lag like hell, the other things are working pretty well
I think that would change a little bit.
If NIS America is reading this please release a patch or something.

Re: PSP Version?
I'm playing with jump start on the PSP 2000. The game does lag in portions, especially the first time you use certain skills in battle, but for the most part it spins up the drive and caches the data and everything goes well from there. If it was a real-time battle system I'd say it was a problem that might be something you could tolerate. Since it's a turn-based battle system it's only an issue in that it can screw up an animation here and there.
I'd be far more worried if I had problems running around dungeons.

Re: PSP Version?
quote: spins up the drive
This is the other problem I found with the game, I've never heard my PSP chew through the UMD like this game has. It's like it's going to take off out of my hands. Perhaps it plays better on a 3000, but then you have the visual errors with that particular version of the handheld.
I reiterate, continue playing it on the PS2 and let's pray for a port (good port) of Mana Khemia 2! Buy the PSP version if you feel like being faithful, but it's not worth the time invested to play it on the PSP...IMHO (whatever that's worth).
