Can we have Disgaea 4 look a little better.....
Now, I don't want to knock the games art style. Sprite in a 3d dimension is fine. What I mean is, can we get better looking sprite for the next game.
Odin sphere for example, had pretty detailed sprites, and that was a ps2 title, or like how Street Fighter 2 HD and King of fighter 12?
Wouldn't it be nice if the sprite, when you look at them, looked like this?

agreed. i really love these games and i will continue to buy them but the sprites badly need an upgrade frankly they are laughable. keep on making the awesome games XD

I felt that the Odin Sphere ones were a bit over the top. It's probably possible on the PS3, but I mean having so much detail on such small sprites would be a bit over the top O_o

Well, the graphics never bothered me, but then again I'm the type who values the cake over the frosting, or something to that effect.
Also, I was born in the 8-bit era of games, so my generation typically emphasizes gameplay (though some have turned to the darkside). Disgaea 3 has that up the wazoo... ...What was I talking about again?

I personally find the art style to be the pinnacle of what I look for in a game. It has beautiful hand drawn sprites. In an era where every game seems to move toward realism, I like having the ability to escape into a fantasy world that actualloy looks morelike fantasy.

3D games are all good and all and many games have looked amazing on 3D. Just check Metal gear 4 and the new Street fighter 4 aswell as the Tekken series. Yet every so often it feels good to find a game that gives as much replay value while going back to the basics of what games were like. All about fun and features.
Just think back to all those great 2D games like the original Suikoden, Breath of fire series, Saga Frontier and XenoGears. Even a couple of newer ones like Guilty gear and blaze blue look amazing in 2D. Im really glad im from the generation of kids who played alot of NeoGeo and early Playstation because you really appreciate what games were about. Fun.

the only thing i can complain about graphically is that the edges of the sprites are a little rough but that might be my SD TV.

There's an option to adjust sprite definition or anti-aliasing or something in the menu somewhere. Might help.
