Sound issues on a giant TV?

Hey guys :O I know its probably been a long time since any of you played disgaea 3 but I was hoping I could get some help or something.

We just got this new 37 inch HDTV (yay?) and I started to play Disgaea 3 on it because now it won't give me headaches xD and it looks magnificent...

The problem is the sound. As far as I can tell, the more voice it uses during battles (I need to find a cutscene with voices to test X: ) the more muffled and quiet the sound output becomes. If I toggle the voice in the settings and it plays a sample of Mao repeatedly, the sound almost dies out and takes about 2 minutes to return to full volume. Has anyone else had this issue with Disgaea 3 or is it just my stuff being craptacular? I tried it with HDMI hookup and component and have had the same issue both times... D:

Nothing like that happens on my TV. 40" RCA 1080p. Don't know the exact model number.

I do have issues with sound balance, though. The music is generally louder than dialogue. Goes for games, movies, TV, anything I use the TV for.

Check for options on the TV like volume compensation. It's possible that features which might reduce the volume when there's a drastic change in the output levels will try to compensate when the voices play. Usually these types of features are used to reduce the volume on commercials when they sound louder than the TV shows you're watching.

This might also be less of a problem if the volume level of the voices is closer to the volume level of the background music and sound effects.

Aw, man... Asking me in that other thread to help you with technical issues, and it turns out to be on a TV? I don't work for BestBuy, man. emoticon
And I certainly can't do much research without the model information.

But if I had that issue, this is what I'd do:

I'd try searching the TV options for some kind of volume equalizer on/off option.
If I failed to find it, I'd check the manual. (Pick it up like Link opening a Big Key chest. Da na na naa~)
If the manual didn't help, I'd search the model number online for information. (Check the manufacturer's forum, if available.)
If I failed to find anything online, I'd ask someone at the store that sold me the TV for help, or contact the manufacturer via phone or email.

I'm pretty sure something will work, but if it doesn't, there are two options left.
1. Return the TV and get a new one
2. Leave the video going through the TV, but have the audio cables hooked up to something else

The TV has very few sound options... its a shame. It has some Qsound thing, and all that does is make things echo- and make me realize there's some weird stuff in the background of the HQ music..

I don't know the model number offhand but its a toshiba...37 inch...somethingerother emoticon HOW HELPFUL xD

I don't think returning the TV is really an option though X:
