I would say so. It's definitely one of the best NIS games and near the top of my personal library.

But, is there a difference between disgaea ps2 version and disgaea psp port?

Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness (the PSP version) has some extra content over the PS2 version (and DS has some extra content over that, though I feel the performance of the DS version isn't worthwhile).

I think the PSP version is better because of the portableness and the move skipping. To be honest you do/will get tired of seeing the same moves over and over when you play it a lotl, and the skip thing is a real gift. Saves HOURS of gametime I'm sure..
And the content is fun :3~
