Will NISA ever Publish the Rest of the Disgaea Manga or the Novels?
Hello, I am a new user here & i have a questtion. I, like many am a big fan of the Disgaea franchise and I was wondering when and if NISA had any planes to Release the Rest of the Manga or the Novels sense the company that was in charge of them Broccoli Books went out of business last year. I keep hopeing some other company will pick them up, but im afreid unless NISA does it themselves under there new Prinny Books department...we may never see the rest of the manga or see the Novels at all in the US. Wich Frankly makes me very very sad! Now I know that the Novels are on Prams wish list wich makes me think they have a chance..but still...So does anyone know what NISA planes to do about this?

Heh, and the manga cover's your avatar.
I'd certainly like to see these finished up by somebody, but I doubt NISA is going to take the reigns on that one. It'd be nice if they could find some connections and do a little research into who'd be willing to put them out for us, though.

But yea, This past year has been horrible for Video Game based Manga in general, not only has Broccoli books bought the farm & left the US rights to the Manga & Novels in Limbo, but Tokyopop Has put the rest of the Kingdom Hearts II manga on Indefinite Hiatus...If I did'nt know any better I'd say the Manga industry had a grudge against us RPG fans! And even though I have more then enough other magna titles I like to keep me occupied, its still disheartining to know some of my favriotes may never be finished in US Shores...I hope NISA is at least nice enough to Finish the Disgaea2 manga eventually, they could publish it and Hopefully the Novels as well, under their new Prinny Books Imprint. Or at the Very least some one should talk to yen press or Del-ray about Acquiring the Rest of the Disgaea manga and the Novels for us here in the good ol USA & Canada.
I guess until then I'll just get by with Negima Neo, D-grayman,& Case Closed.

They went out of business? That sucks...
I was looking into getting another Disgaea 2 book, but if the series isn't even complete, I guess I'll spend my money on some other manga.

Yep, the only way will get the rest of the Magna is to Ask NISA to Publish it or E-mail them as well as the various Manga Publishers here in the US & request they pick it up.

I put tokyopop on the bottem because there one of the worst nowadays! there financial debacles have caused many of there titles to be delayed or bought out by other companies I would suggest asking ALL of these companies EXCEPT TOKYOPOP to get Disgaea (Ecspecially YEN & Del-ray both are very good qualiry publisheres & have less edits then viz does.) (But viz is really good too, thats why there the biggest!)
So yea any of these guys might get the Disgaea manga or novels if the fans want em bad enough, but we have to e-mail &/or call requesting the title. Also Dont forget to contact NISA & Ask them Directly for the Rest of the Disgaea magna &the Novels Published through there new Prinny Books Imprint!

Out of those, I could probably see Yen Press, Dark Horse, or Seven Seas putting it out. They're quicker to snatch up niche titles than other companies seem to be.

Yea ,Personally I would love to see Yen Press get the Disgaea manga & Novels, I know there newer, but Ive liked the quality of their products so far, & Since they already publish other supernatural action series such as Soul Eater, Jack Frost & Nightschool, I don't think it would be too far fetched for Yen to Do Disgaea as well, but again, for any company to pick somthing up they have to know the fans want it, wich means we've got to e-mail em & request the title, while its true the fans voice is still small in any industry, it does reach & enough voices can determine weather or not a company picks up or dumps a series.
But again part of me still hopes NISA will take the initiatve to bring the rest of the Disgaea manga & Novels over here themselves.

Someone had also asked DoubleJump books if they would be willing to pick it up...either that or it was about a Disgaea 3 artbook.
The DoubleJump boards might be a good place to start since their publisher posts there quite frequently, and is a pretty big Disgaea fan.

Good Suggestion PrinPrin. But would a company that does gameguides do manga & Novels as well, I guess its possible, but i would'nt bet on it. Im glad to here thers people at Double Jump that are big Disgaea fans, I guess that makes it possible but not Plausible if you ask me, non the less I guess it would'nt hurt to e-mai them & ask.

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt. Even if they turn you down, they'll be friendly about it xD.
I don't know, maybe this is a good chance for them to expand their range of productions. *shrug*
